Combining keen aesthetic intuition with professional-grade products and equipment, the stylists at Front Street Hair Studio use an arsenal of techniques to create changing, energetic new looks for their clients. They begin each appointment with a thorough consultation, determining how anything from a quick trim to a full head of highlights will accentuate a client's best features, even if their best features are solving integral and differential equations. From there, the stylists tend to tresses using Aquage shampoos and styling products?made using nutrient-rich blends of organic seaweeds and algae?as well as vibrant coloring formulas by Wella.
Daphne Hutton’s enthusiasm is obvious––even before the first snip. Each session begins with a private facial analysis, wherein she gets to know the client, discusses needs, and helps choose a flattering style. Then the transformation happens. Two decades of experience guide her as she sculpts sleek layers and decorates with color highlights. Guests can also solicit Daphne for a facial wax or retreat to a private room for bodywork session with the salon’s certified massage therapist, Tara Stoner.
Having owned and operated nine different salons, Cheri Pennetta recognizes the importance of taking the needs of each client on a case-by-case basis. Whether those clients arrive at Rock N Roll 56 Salon & Spa looking for a quick fix—or a full-blown makeover—Cheri snips, sprays, and colors accordingly. For hair, Cheri spruces up locks with cuts, blowouts and extensions, and for everything else, she offers specialty services, including spray tans, waxing, and lash upgrades.
At Victoria Kelly’s personal Salon Republic suite, white painted trim sits atop the purple walls like delicate lace. The painstaking detail of Victoria’s surroundings accurately mirrors her own work, stylish scissor cuts and bold color highlights done with a careful eye and skilled hand honed with five years of experience. Victoria can give bounce to flat locks with a signature perm or design a fashionably elegant updo complete with tasteful floral sew-ins.
The salon itself also hosts a fully functioning face-waxing station, equipped to remove fuzz from upper lips and stubborn daisies growing from the ear canal.
Boulder Natural/Organic Hair Salon bills itself as a natural organic salon—a claim proven by the lack of shampoo bottles in its wastebaskets. All of the products used by its stylists for shampoos, color, and perms come in recyclable packaging. This environmental focus extends to the products inside the packages as well, which are made from blends of essential oils and plant extracts. Additionally, Boulder Natural/Organic Hair Salon's staff can recommend take-home products, including treatment programs for oily hair, dry scalps, and dreams of being chased by giant scissors.

Certain hairstyles look good on certain facial shapes. When a client asks for a haircut you know will be a mismatch for them, how do you handle it?
I tactfully guide them to a choice that will flatter them more, maybe using some of the elements they like about the other style.
For many people, a trip to the salon is a way to enjoy some "me time." What supplemental courtesies do you offer to make guests feel relaxed?
I offer my clients cold drinks, and I can also do makeup, mani-pedis, and scalp massages if they schedule them in advance.
