Save time, money, and the planet with an e-bike, which can be fully charged at five cents a pop.

Golden Bear Bikes is an outdoor sporting store that caters to myriad biking needs––housing a bundle of bike apparel, tools, and accessories, as well as offering various tune-up services. Rainy-day riders can shield themselves from cloud tears and exploding soy-sauce packets with the water-resistant Bontrager Clearly Seen rain shell ($34.99), and bodybuilding bikers can comfortably curl their pedal-propelled road ponies with a pair of Gore Bike Wear Countdown Summer lady gloves ($39.99). A quick tune-up ($55) adjusts the front and rear brakes and derailleurs, lubricates the cables and drivetrain, checks the ball bearings, and ensures cycles roll smoothly over inconveniently placed birthday cakes.

For a decade, outdoor DIVAS has stocked women-only fitness items and apparel for just about any exercise class or outdoor activity, taking away the frustration of scouring numerous websites or department stores for individual pieces. Cofounder and President Kim Walker, an avid athlete and mother, found herself constantly frustrated when shopping for women's skiing equipment—either everything she found was made for larger male bodies or only had a few options to choose from. She decided to take matters into her own hands, opening a rare female-focused athletic shop. Since then, her company has launched outdoorDIVAS.com and a second brick-and-mortar store in Denver.

Runners, mountain climbers, skiers, and swimmers alike can find the equipment they need to partake in their favorite sport. Scarpa footwear and Black Diamond twist locks help climbers scurry up mountainsides safely. Patagonia board shorts, meanwhile, are made from all-recycled polyester and spandex, so aquatic athletes can sustain the oceans in which they swim simply by wearing pink spandex shorts—also the reason most environmentalists wear them at seminars.

Denver B-cycle kicks cars to the curb with an innovative bike-sharing system that allows users to reclaim the city for two-wheeled travel. Members can kiss the hassles of car traffic and regular cycle maintenance goodbye as they commute, explore, and run errands on bikes that patiently await their riders at convenient B-stations. After filling out an online profile and following the simple instructions on a station kiosk, members can unlock a one-size-fits-all steed and begin their first trip. Watch your carbon footprint shrink to the size of an infant’s pinky as you careen around town and periodically consult an online account that tracks miles logged, calories burned, and polar bears saved on each trip. When bikes have fulfilled their noble pledges, they can be left at the nearest B-station for some rest and protection before the next wearisome march to the grocery store.
