Rhythm In Motion’s staff of twirling professionals brings forth extensive skills in everything from salsa to ballet to the foxtrot. The instructors teach the secrets of graceful movement to students of all levels during group lessons or private lessons for individuals or couples. A 90-minute practice party on Fridays then encourages students to practice newly learned moves, socialize, and perfect dips and twirls away from the judgmental eyes of the family guinea pig.
Classical, opera, and popular orchestral compositions make up the repertoire of the Southwest Florida Symphony, which has made quality programming its mission since 1961. Aiming to make music accessible to all, the symphony visits schools, offers scholarships, books youth-friendly concerts, and provides a friendly First-Timer’s Guide for new audience members unfamiliar with the proper way of applauding.
Matthew Altbuch started learning the art of circus performance at the tender age of eight, quickly mastering the unicycle, juggling, and the trapeze. Throughout school, he performed in talent shows, ultimately going on to spend time with the Florida State Flying High Circus after college. Eventually, he realized his passion lay in sharing the circus arts with others, so he founded Aerial Trapeze Academy to carry out his mission of training performers around the world. He now lives his dream, joined by three other teachers as he holds trapeze classes for the next generation of gravity-defiers.
With only 130 seats, Mosaic Theatre can justly claim that there?s not a bad seat in the house. Designed to be a maximally flexible space, the venue changes its seating for every performance to enhance the theatergoing experience for visitors or to clear way for the mid-play goat chorus line.
The dockside tables at The Waterfront Restaurant & Marina allow diners to get as close to the water as possible without getting wet. The eatery's 16-slip dock welcomes boaters and hungry mermaids to pull up and join the land-based clientele in sampling the menu of local specialties, such as Pine Island clams, oysters, and stone crab. Chefs also grill up more than a dozen types of burgers and load fried seafood morsels into baskets. Sunsets reflect in pitchers of draft beer and carafes of red, white, or pink wine.
The Alliance for the Arts' concerts, exhibitions, and art classes have become a staple for the aesthetically inclined since the institution's founding in 1975. The center’s three art galleries elicit awe with ongoing exhibits, and its educational programs inspire students to express their feelings through painting and drawing.
