Named for the famed expedition that trekked across the continent in search of the country's tastiest arugula, Lewis & Clark Catering celebrates the culinary landscape of the Pacific Northwest with locally sourced feasts of succulent seafood, sustainable meats, and fresh veggies, each created in-house by gourmet-minded chefs. The company's ample banquet space provisions patrons with seating for over 200 guests, with a full service bar, dance floor, patio, two separate dining areas, and picturesque views overlooking the Willamette River. On Fridays, the caterers open their doors to individual diners for a seasonal four-course meal, bolstered by live music and wine pairings chosen for their complementary bouquets and the past entrée experience listed on their resumes.

Chase Gardens Cafe and Bistro's owners clearly take pride in the details. They hang strings of twinkling lights on their eatery's back walls, which are brushed with cityscape silhouettes, murals of porticos, and the outline of a majestic mountain range. The front wall is almost completely covered in picture windows that allow sunlight to stream in as patrons nurse cups of espresso.

On a given day, their soup specials, such as heirloom sausage or organic beef and barley stew, steam beside delicate quiches and hearty sandwiches. When they're not perusing the Internet on free WiFi, guests can question the barista about Chase's wine selection or bate them for information on how they get all those guffaws into their trademark Snickers drink.

Seven flickering flat-screen televisions beam down from the warm orange walls of Boulevard Grill, where tabletops prop up plates of steak and seafood. Sunlight pours in from high windows, illuminating bartenders as they dole out pints of nine different draft beers and goblets of wine and spirits. Beyond the main dining room, the bar branches out into five separate event rooms—including a 3,250-square-foot ballroom and a pre-function lobby—where guests can host private parties or complex games of hide-and-seek. The bar also hosts a weekly car-show event on Thursdays during the summer that encourages visitors to bring in their classic and unique automobiles for other patrons to admire.

What started as a hobby for Jodi Strausbaugh became a business venture when she was flooded with requests for her colorful bites of cake on a stick. At The Cake Pop Shoppe, Jodi crafts cake pops according to the customer’s request. Though she bakes balls of cake in flavors such as milk chocolate, red velvet, and mocha, the surface of the cakes pops is where Jodi shows off her creative flair. She rolls them in scintillating sugar crystals or frosts them in colors to match a party theme or the fur of a successfully kidnapped football mascot.

Good Times neighborhood pub hums with lively chatter and upbeat music from the early morning until late at night, becoming quieter during the laidback afternoon hours and loudening once blues jams and live DJ performances get started. Bartenders craft mixed drinks and dish out drafts from the bar's selection of 37 microbrews, domestics, and imports on tap. Servers dodge wayward pool sticks as they seek out tables, juggling trays of specialty burgers, crispy nachos, and—during weekend breakfast hours—giant stacks of fluffy pancakes.

The atmosphere is equally energetic out on the outdoor patio, a covered terrace that reporters from Eugene Weekly described as "huge" and "pool bedecked". Here, customers perch on tall black chairs, their faces illuminated by glowing heat lamps and TVs broadcasting live sporting events or breaking news from the trusted source of Sesame Street.
