At CrossFit Augusta, located inside Quantum Academy, seeing people give it their all is the standard, not the exception. It’s not uncommon to see someone hop onto a pull-up bar, rapidly perform a number of kipping pull-ups, drop down, walk over to a barbell, rapidly perform a number of front squats, return to the pull-up bar, and repeat the cycle. The exhausting series of exercises is typical among CrossFit’s workout of the day, because it uses functional movements, such as squatting, pushing, pulling, and waving hello to strangers. Yet a friendly, inviting atmosphere is maintained throughout, which helps those getting back into fitness find their groove. A seasoned staff of CrossFit coaches is always on hand to assist members in maintaining proper form and staying motivated.
CrossFit 4 Everyone’s head trainers and co-owners Julie and Joshua Miller are no strangers to intense workouts. Julie swam competitively for 13 years and Joshua is a black belt in Brazilian jujitsu and winner of several international competitions. As teachers of the CrossFit fitness methodology, they bring their commitment and experience to workouts. Instead of sport-specific activities, students build strength and agility through nontraditional exercises such as gymnastics rings, flipping giant tires, throwing medicine balls, and weightlifting. Workouts are super intense, but typically only last 20 minutes. In addition to the CrossFit regimen, Crossfit 4 Everyone also has a rock wall and offers hot-yoga classes.
At CSRA CrossFit, a team of CrossFit-certified coaches pushes their students past their personal fitness goals, building lean, powerful muscles with a high-intensity regimen of Olympic lifting, endurance workouts, and interval training. An ever-changing barrage of Workouts of the Day (or WODs) breaks up the boring routine with daily wake-up calls of deadlifts, pushups, and other exciting compound words, and yoga sessions build flexibility and range of motion.
At CrossFit Aiken, the medicine balls come in several spherical sizes. Their diversity, which allows guests of all fitness levels to heft and throw their weight, reflects the gym's two major goals: customization and variety. Each CrossFit workout conducted in the space can be scaled to suit a total newcomer as well as a seasoned athlete. Certified trainer Brent Eno leads his students through barbell lifts, gymnastics movements, and a host of calisthenics during the Workout of the Day, or WOD, remaining mindful of everyone's limitations and prioritizing safe form. In fact, he requires new patrons to attend an introductory assessment class, which illustrates the proper techniques for CrossFit's repertoire of moves.
When CrossFit Aiken's staff members aren't leading guests through pull-ups, kettlebell swings, or rowing-machine piloting. Additionally, the staff teaches yoga classes that keep physiques limber in between the one-hour Workouts of the Day.

CrossFit Blythewood, CrossFit Vista and CrossFit 1732 have joined forces to create Warrior Fitness. Warrior‘s trainers guide athletes through traditional CrossFit classes, which tackle a new Workout of the Day (WOD) every day. Exercises vary, though they often include moves such as weight lifting, running, rowing, and unconventional moves such as tire flipping. Warrior Fitness also conducts outdoor boot camps and special fitness classes for kids.
At Foothills CrossFit, patrons don't sweat on treadmills with their eyes glued to flat-screens. Instead, they tone and train their bodies with intense, constantly varied Workouts of the Day. Led by certified CrossFit trainers Greg Kister and Doctor of Chiropractic Ryan Calhoun, athletes build strength, stamina, and flexibility with squats, kettlebell swings, gymnastics, and weightlifting.
