At Venture Personal Training, the staff believes that the human body is capable of anything—it’s the mind that gets in the way of success. To overcome this roadblock, Venture supports and encourages clients as they work through personal-training regimens. Personalized plans can pursue a number of goals, such as increasing strength and muscle tone, boosting speed, and reconciling with estranged bike shorts.
No men, no makeup, no mirrors. It's a philosophy that?s helped members of the Curves community since 1992. Part fitness center, part community center, Curves is a women?s only club that takes a streamlined approach to health, fitness, and weight loss. Curves has teamed up with health and fitness coach Jillian Michaels to develop full-body, 30-minute workouts that kick-start weight loss, combining strength training, cardio, and stretching into sessions that torch fat, build strength, boost intensity, and prevent plateaus. These workouts are enhanced further by the Curves Complete Program, available for an extra fee, which is rooted in Curves' method for effective weight loss in that it supplements efforts at the gym with personalized meal plans and weekly one-on-one meetings with a certified Curves coach.
The Little Gym fosters the healthy growth of children by allowing them to progress at their own pace in a nonthreatening, nurturing environment. As wee ones from 4 months to 12 years-old tackle challenges, overcome fears, and learn to confidently express their opinions about Platonic theory, The Little Gym's original music graces their ears and supports their lessons. The month includes four classes that let tots develop through weekly, age-specific curriculum, with programs including pre-school/kindergarten gymnastics, dance, sports-skills development, and karate.
Kerri Almaas, CrossFit BB's trainer, likes to stay active?not only is she certified in CrossFit Level 1, kettlebells, and Olympic lifting, but she also loves to camp, cook, snowboard, and play around with her two dogs. Though the exercises rotate constantly, they often feature moves such as weightlifting, running, rowing, kettlebell exercises, calisthenics, and plyometrics.
When David and Sheila Bath founded Leading Edge Gymnastics in 1990, they did so with a simple goal: to help kids build character through the sport they themselves were so passionate about. As their student base expanded and their programs flourished, that character-building mission remained. And along with self-discipline and positive thinking, the gym's students take home physical strength, agility, and really cool party tricks. The program now offers three levels for gymnasts, a competitive team for serious athletes, preschool programs such as Mommy and Me, and even birthday parties. Thus far, LEGA has five athletes attending college on full-ride college scholarships.
With two locations, long hours, and a bounty of equipment, Emerald City Athletic Club helps its members get in shape, whatever their workout of choice. Gym floors lined with regiments of Precor and Nautilus machines let members work every muscle in their bodies, and the class studios' high-tech sound systems energize Zumba, salsa dancing, and kickboxing sessions and keep stationary cycles from tearing around the room in loneliness each night. Free weights and intricate weight machines hold down the floor of a spacious weight room, where muscle sculptors work up a sweat before winding down in a dry sauna, Turkish steam bath, and hot tub. At the Everett location, an Olympic-style pool, a basketball court, and racquetball and handball courts offer even more variety.
