Snohomish County's largest full-service family athletic club, Columbia Athletic Clubs has something for everyone. One hundred group exercise classes are offered each week; Cycle Cross takes place in the cycling studio while Water Aerobics and Aqua Motion utilize the Big Pool. Hot yoga and classes in the Mind/Body Studio come included with each membership. There's also an indoor Salt-Pure lap pool for advanced swimmers and shiny-sunken-object-retrievers. A talented group of personal trainers work with clients to get the most out of every workout.

The club's amenities extend beyond pure fitness. The Silver Lake Cafe serves up healthy and tasty meals, and massage therapy is offered onsite. At the Kids Club, youngens can play games under the supervision of an experienced staff while parents hit the gym.

Although Hunan Palace embraces the recipes of its namesake region, the chefs also draw inspiration from other culinary traditions throughout China to create their menu. This liberal adoption of inspiration can lead to dishes such as shrimp saut?ed in spicy Szechuan-style sauce appearing on diners' tables alongside mongolian beef with hot peppers and a bed of crispy noodles. As further proof of their dedication to traditional Chinese flavors, the chefs also glaze crispy whole fish with spicy, Hunan-style sauce and roast entire peking ducks, which can be shared by the table.

A handful of tables line the floor of Hunan Palace's carpeted dining room, providing each guest views out the restaurant's plate-glass windows. Small lamps cast a gentle glow throughout the space. Spirits become livelier on Friday and Saturday nights when guests can stop in for karaoke and enjoy a drink from the bar while waiting for a chance to belt their favorite power ballad or deliver their favorite William Jennings Bryan speech.

Like a city street after every nearby car wash has malfunctioned, The Bubble Run welcomes participants to play in light, glistening foam. Runners, walkers, jumpers, and skippers cruise their way through five easygoing, untimed kilometers, each marked with a 6-foot-deep bog brimming with colorful foam and floating bubbles. Bubbleteers armed with foam-slinging cannons ensure that each adventurer receives a healthy dose of bubbles as they pass, running safely thanks to the dry makeup of the foam solution used. Racers clad in white may start clean as a whistle, but by the time they cross the finish line, they’re dyed like a rainbow, finally readying them to sneak up on a leprechaun. Then the fun keeps going—live DJs and bubble cannons amp up afterparties to celebrate runners' efforts. Proceeds from each race benefit local charities.

Considering its full slate of signature beers, Lazy Boy Brewing may be a misnomer. That's because the brewery stays busy crafting beers such as the hoppy IPA, the Bavarian-style Hefeweizen, and the chocolate-infused Porter. Beers are more than showcased, they are poured for thirsty patrons inside the taproom. From here, guests can watch brewers as they add malt to their creations or read The Little Engine That Could to fermenting tanks. All of this has helped the brewery earn awards such as the gold medal at 2007's North American Beer Awards for its Belgian Strong Ale and the bronze medal at 2007's Strange Brewfest for its Mistletoe Bliss.

Billed as the Ultimate Trisport Event, TruAthlete is a competition in which coed teams of 6-10 players each battle each other tournament-style in each of three sports: flag football, volleyball, and soccer. For each game, six team members will take the field at a time; two women must be in play at all times, and teams can have up to four substitutes on the bench. There are two levels of registration: Division I, which is for serious athletes, or Division II, a casual bracket for groups interested in socializing and finally figuring out how their feet work. The top two teams in each division take home prizes. The event takes place at Magnuson Park, where there will be beer pong and dodgeball for spectators and consumers.
