Summit Climbing Gym sprawls across 10,000 square feet lined with towering structures for boundless bouldering and rope climbing along with its own onsite yoga studio. Manmade walls adorned with brightly colored handholds emerge from the ground, daring aspiring climbers to decode their paths. Fingertips dipped in rock chalk learn to cling to the hardened monoliths with firm grace, keeping on the lookout for the single book spine that triggers access to a revolving door and secret chocolate fountain. Guests can gab with experts about form and new-equipment purchases at the climb shop, or take a breather on a comfy couch to rest, reflect on a new route, or admire their brand-new Popeye forearms.
In addition to its scaling structures, Summit Climbing Gym hosts yoga classes in an on-site studio to boost climbing flexibility. Here, guests choose from a variety of formats, including CoreFusion, Slow Flow, Power Yoga, and Yin Yoga, a pose-intensive class that helps range of motion and strengthen connective tissues.
Cyndi Dorber believes both aspects of "social dance" are equally important. She views dance as a social skill as much as a technical one. At her studio, A Dance With Me, Cyndi encourages coupled and single dancers alike to rotate partners regularly, which helps everyone meet new people and adapt to different dancing styles or a dancing partner's velcro jumpsuit. A team of instructors teach foundational dance styles from ballroom and Latin to swing and Western. The studio also regularly hosts dance socials, and brightens outside events with casual dance lessons.
In 1994, Jason Dollar was at a career high. The National Cheerleaders Association presented its first NCA Choreography Award and Dollar was the beaming recipient. But the momentum that took him to the top didn’t stop there. He went on to earn more choreography awards and sit as a judge on several national cheerleading and borscht-eating panels. In 2002, he experienced a new career milestone when he founded Pride—the nationally acclaimed competitive cheerleading team that calls North Dallas Tumble and Cheer home. Today, the 12,000-square-foot facility houses competitive cheer programs as well as beginner to advanced tumbling and gymnastic programs for young athletes.
