What?s the best reaction you?ve ever gotten from a customer?

"A 16 ounce comes with three shots. Is that okay?" "Seriously? So my 16 ounce almond milk latte is a bargain. No charge for almond or an extra shot? Sold. Best coffee shop every."

Issac Dakar opened Petra House in 2013, but his mother deserves a share of the credit. After all, Issac is using her recipes. These range from char-grilled salmon kebabs with shrimp to more traditional offerings, such as bamyeh bilahmih, a dish of oven-baked okra served with halal beef, onions, tomatoes, and spices. The d?cor reflects the menu's traditional bent: guests dine along plush pillow-lined seating amid ornate rugs and colorful Mediterranean drapery. There's also a rosewater hand-washing station, so guests can freshen up before a meal without holding their hands up to the showering sky.

Adults love to drink coffee. Kids love to play. But unless you have a frappuccino-filled swimming pool in your backyard, there aren't many places where both activities can take place. That's where Little Cups & Grownups comes in. Part cafe and part play-space, Little Cups allows adults to relax and converse as their children interact in a supervised area stocked with toys and books. Baristas pour Caffe D'arte coffee and espresso drinks alongside salads, chicken wraps, and turkey paninis, while parties provide kids with snacks and drinks of their own, including personal pizzas and juice.

At South Pacific Cafe & Loung, Polynesian cuisine meets classic pub fare. The bartenders at the eatery's Tiki hut bar pour from island-influenced beers and craft cocktails, like the Jamaican Sunset, a mix of spiced rum, dark rum, OJ and pineapple juice, from a selection of rums from all over the world. Meanwhile, TVs play the latest sports games instead of live footage of an empty beach cabana, making it a fun place to eat, drink, and play.

The restaurant's fusion cuisine features classics like chicken wings that receive a touch of tropical flavor with sauces like apricot BBQ and ginger chili. Even the pizza gets an island twist--the Spicy Hawaiian pizza comes crowned in Canadian bacon, pineapple, and banana peppers. An array of more traditional steakhouse favorites, like New York strip steak and grilled salmon, as well as burgers, salads, pasta, sandwiches, and gluten-free and vegan options round out the menu. And for snack-sized plates, an all-day happy hour menu features smaller portions of bacon-wrapped prawns and cajun-style tots with a side of spicy fondue.

Coffee Revolution was born out of a desire to serve a delicious cup of coffee and to help those in need. The full-service, volunteer-led coffee bar is an extension of the River Rock Church's Operation Kindness ministry, and uses its proceeds to benefit local children and those in need, as well as communities around the world. In keeping with this spirit, it's also characterized by a welcoming atmosphere: cheerful golden-yellow walls surround sleek, modern counters and wooden tables. Meanwhile, aromas of coffee and espresso made with Cafe De'Artee beans waft through the space. A range of specialty coffee drinks, smoothies, and pastries round out the menu.
