Safari Mini Golf & Games curates friendly competition with more than two acres of tropical parkland that encompasses a 36-hole miniature golf course and four batting cages. Vibrant palms, streams, and waterfalls line the miniature golf course, creating a safari-like habitat for life-size statues of elephants, monkeys, and other exotic creatures along the way. The piercing timbre of sharp line-drives resonates from four batting cages, where cyborg pitchers contemplate charging the plate as they paint the strike zone with high-arcing softballs and baseballs hurled at speeds between 35 and 60 mph. Competitive appetites can find relief in the arcade, where guests seek out goals on the foosball pitch, square off in the digital realm of video games, or display their dominion over sugar by vanquishing scoops of Blue Bell ice cream.

Jungle Club is about more than sweating like you?re in the middle of a tropical jungle. It combines physical activity and fun into one sports complex. Spend a day in the sun with a game of tennis followed by an afternoon swimming laps in the 25-meter pool. Indoors, a full gym includes resistance training, cardio equipment, and a gravity studio, which strengthens bodies using the force of their own weight. And for those who do like to sweat, Jungle Club offers a large selection of weekly fitness classes, such as Zumba, yoga, tai chi, and spinning. Jungle Club also goes the extra mile with a wellness center, which offers physical therapy, massage therapy, facials, and personal training.

The escaped inmates’ hearts pump hard in their chests as they zig and zag through a forest, evading the grasp of a guard in hot pursuit. Scuttling up the mud-lined slope of a hill, the fugitives holler with frustration as the guard closes in on them, ripping a flag off their belts before retreating back into the trees. Though this adrenaline-filled scene could be from a blockbuster film, it’s a common sight at the many Fugitive 3 Mile Escape Runs held across the country.

Before taking off in their race heat, runners of all ages, dubbed inmates, slip into flag belts festooned with three flags. They leap, roll, crawl, and do-si-do across the course toward their freedom, seeking out the elusive finish line while avoiding the flag-grabbing hands of the race’s resident guards. Water and aid stations throughout the course ensure that inmates remain hydrated and safe, and supportive loved ones can hand nail-file-filled cakes to their favorite inmate from the spectator section. Once safely on the other side of the race, participants revel in their accomplishment at the freedom celebration, where live music, food, and drinks bolster the festive post-run atmosphere.
