Since she was a teenager, Sandy Davenport’s determination to stay physically fit has earned her a resumé full of accomplishments, which include authoring her own fitness and lifestyle manual, designing corporate-wellness programs, and winning the Ms. Alabama Bodybuilding Championship twice. After a car accident left her injured, she discovered Zumba's invigorating, low-impact fitness system to keep herself in shape while she recuperated. Her fascination with the fun, energetic workout inspired her to become a dance-fitness instructor, seeking out training from Zumba architect Beto Perez.
Today, Sandy calls upon her extensive training and experience in Latin and ballroom dance to lead exercisers of all abilities through Zumba's fun, easy-to-follow dance moves. In her studio's friendly, judgment-free environment, students feed off the contagious energy of pulsing music with Latin and international dance moves while cutting rugs to reach their fitness goals.
Dr. A. E. Miller’s path to Summit Dental was anything but direct. After manning a solo practice for 10 years, Dr. Miller sold it and moved to Hana, Maui, where he administered nonprofit dental services. When he returned to Pensacola, he continued to perform nonprofit dental services while also designing coursework and intricate hedge mazes for dental students at the University of Florida.
Soon after, he opened Summit Dental, reestablishing himself in private practice and employing his expertise in family and cosmetic dentistry. He and his experienced staff dedicate themselves to helping patients gain self-confidence with a smile-makeover approach, which seeks to optimize the natural beauty of each patient’s smile.
The instructors at Detour Fitness Studios seek to shake up tired workout routines with fun and challenging classes that range from introductory pole-dancing sessions to learning ballet skills on a vertical barre. Their signature Triple Interval Training program comprises four challenging classes, including a 45-minute full-body circuit and a 50-minute combination of spinning, boxing, and crunches, all of which aim to strengthen cores. In addition to group classes and burlesque workshops, they also oversee three levels of pole parties that can commemorate birthdays and bachelorette events.
Cypress Lakes Golf Club’s course was designed by William Amick to rise and fall across the natural landscape for 6,396 yards of fairways hugged by gentle waters and towering trees. Unlike most Floridian links, the course unfurls across somewhat mountainous terrain, where cresting hilltops can obscure distant targets, leading to blind shots that aren’t just the result of opponents kicking sand in your eyes. Fairways bob and weave around groves of leyland cypress trees, more than 300 crepe myrtle trees, and 500 lush azaleas, giving advantage to players who can work drives and approaches around the arboreal impediments. A circuit of streams ebbs and flows across the picturesque par 71, adding to the native obstacles and striking fear into the caramel hearts of hydrophobic golf balls. A roaming beverage cart slakes midround thirsts, and the club also boasts a driving range with grass hitting areas and a fully stocked pro shop.

Foot and ankle specialist Dr. Joe Griffin tackles orthopedic and sports-related symptoms, diabetic foot management, and problems affecting the nerves, skin, and nails. His office, which is growing with its field, is outfitted with helpful podiatric technology including lasers that banish fungus, plantar warts, and scarring, and it includes corrective shoes in both traditional and coal-powered versions. Though his site reveals a rotating collection of testimonials from patients who praise Dr. Griffin's work at Coastal, the podiatrist also spends time away from his practice to treat patients at Thomas Hospital and Thomas Medical Center, as well as South Baldwin Regional Medical Center.
Rejuvenation Med Spa's first priority is firm, alluring skin. Staffers achieve this goal through a variety of goods and treatments, all of which avoid the downtime of surgery and the discomfort of wearing a nude-colored catsuit every day. They disrupt fat deposits with FDA-approved Zerona lasers, fill in wrinkles with Botox and Juvéderm injections, and apply skincare formulas from Obagi and Nu Skin. They also lead clients through weight-loss and diet programs for further slimming tips. The spa's monochromatic decor—composed of white couches, black rugs, and silver walls—lends its lounge a futuristic feel that complements the lasers within its treatment rooms.
