Drawing on 15 years of industry experience, Locations Photography's Tammy Graham hones students' photo-trapping skills with comprehensive introductory courses. Aspiring photographers bring their own cameras to the 90-minute studio classes, during which they explore their instrument's basic abilities and the myriad functions that often encumber digital cameras. The expert instructor imparts cautionary tales against common beginner pitfalls and lighting techniques that help reduce overexposure and hammy shadows. Students will also learn posing tips to successfully capture friends and family in natural environments or coax smiles out of stubborn statues.
Art Smart welcomes students K–12 to develop artistic expression with a multitude of art styles and mediums. Over more than 20 years, founders Gary and Crystal Templin nurtured and educated more than 6,000 pupils, drawing on their experience teaching elementary, high-school, and college courses and illustrating kids' menus for international restaurant franchises. The duo keeps kids engaged with simple, step-by-step instructions, observing as their protégés experiment with realistic and cartoon drawing, painting acrylics on canvas, and sculpting with terra cotta, polymer clay, and lunchbox leftovers. All classes are grouped by age, but the Templins allow more experienced students to advance their skills at their own pace, staving off the ensuing boredom of repeating areas they've covered at Art Smart previously. Parents can register their kids for weekly classes by the month or semester, and can supplement their children's budding creativity with summer day camps and seasonal five-hour workshops.
Accomplished artists themselves, both Tracy Malmstrom and Gail Carson—"Ms. Tracy and Ms. Gail" to their young students—have taught art in elementary schools. After a deluge of requests for private lessons, Tracy founded ArtCastle in 2006 and Gail signed on in 2011. Together, they nourish the artistic spirits of children 5 and older through drawing, painting, printmaking, and a plethora of other mediums.
As the young artists hone visual skills while silk painting or practicing batik-watercolor techniques, Tracy and Gail also strive to bolster their problem-solving abilities, listening skills, and confidence. In addition to after-school and home-school art sessions, the duo offers Friday kids' night out parties in which kids belt out karaoke, scarf down pizza and desserts, and amaze their parents with a finished work of art at the end of the night. Summer camps and classes keep kids active on break and Saturday workshops teach youngsters of all ages a new artistic skill each month, such as how to construct a new best friend out of papier-måché.

Legacy Studios' master photographer, Barbara Berry, heads a team of professional photographers as they exercise their skill in capturing vivid images of children, families, mothers-to-be, and high school seniors. The studio's Masterpiece technique transforms photographs into images that evoke classic oil paintings, and a roster of pinup packages encourage patrons to channel their inner burlesque dancer for a series of sultry photos perfect for a significant other.
In addition to photography services, Legacy Studios also offers basic digital-photo workshops, an online course, and Photoshop-training DVDs, which teach clients the ins and outs of retouching images and removing spectral photobombs.
