Sponsored by Dr. Pepper, the Dallas Cup XXXII excites audiences by providing a soccer showcase for the world’s most talented youth players. Over the course of seven days, teams from seven age groups will compete for a Dallas Cup championship with the hopes of etching their name in tournament history, leaving with international bragging rights and increased odds for future hacky sack careers. Delight in the family-friendly atmosphere of Pizza Hut Park while future soccer stars pass, dribble, and headball paneled orbs past the outstretched arms of leaping goalies and overzealous parents. Several games will be decided on each day of the tournament, and fans can consult the schedule to see when games will be played.
The trainers at Robert Brown Sports Performance don't just blindly assign clients exercises to perform. Instead, they use tests to determine your strength and conditioning levels at the outset of your training. This allows them both to tailor their workouts to your needs and to motivate you to make drastic improvements. In addition to reaching higher performance levels, training can also help athletes limit the likelihood of injuries on the court or field.
Upon first glance, those training and partying on Kick-em Training Facility's four indoor fields seem to be playing soccer. But they're actually engaging in futsal, a game whose smaller turf and heavier ball make it an ideal training opportunity for soccer players. Atop the green rectangles, athletes practice and casual guests enjoy open play. Birthday partiers can also celebrate sportily before fueling up with cake (prepared, perhaps, in the facility's industrial kitchen). The space also hosts dodge-ball games, and serves as a practice facility for students in mascot academies. Futsal leagues give the sport's local players a place to show off as friends cheer from wooden benches or unleash flocks of doves in their honor.
Dodgeball is more than just a gym-class game at Dallas Dodgeball; it's a lifestyle. With internationally traveling teams, tournaments, and competitive leagues, it's easy to make the sport part of your daily routine. If you're looking for a more laid-back atmosphere, come to an open-play session or let the facility host a birthday party.
Most Montessori schools shape their curriculum around the teachings of Maria Montessori, the Italian educator whose name is synonymous with encouraging children’s naturally developing intellect. And while St. Alcuin does just that, they also honor the other figure in their moniker—Alcuin, who tutored Charlemagne’s sons and turned York’s cathedral school into a legendary institution. At St. Alcuin, staff adopt a philosophy that encompasses the medieval scholar’s work and also inspires cooperation, independence, and imagination, whether students are conducting a science experiment in class or stretching the time-space continuum to make day camp last longer.
Even when the school year ends, St. Alcuin keeps kids engaged with enriching summer camps that foster independence and community building. Adventure camps feature exciting themes that acquaint campers with live animals, challenge them to build their own kites, or teach them about space travel. Meanwhile, sports camps and enrichment camps let children explore their passions. The school also offers academic camps that give students a leg up when school is back in session, helping kids learn a new language, musical instrument, or useful study skills.
The sounds of squeaking sneakers, pinging baseball bats, and thudding volleyballs fill The Sportsplex At Valley View’s 61,000-square-foot field house. Each floor of the two-story facility is dedicated to athletic training, evident by the eight volleyball courts, three basketball courts, 70’x70’ turf field, batting cages, track, and anvil-throwing field. Between the playing lines, guests can play pickup games or join one of Sportsplex’s experienced coaches for sports training or camps. Since no athletic facility would be complete without a gym, there’s also a space where cardio and TRX equipment, boot-camp classes, and personal-training sessions help whip participants into shape.
