The certified instructors at Scooter Tow Hang Gliding School have designed their curriculum to encourage potential students that hang-gliding can be for anyone. In doing so, they introduce beginners to the sport gradually by scheduling flights in the early morning and late afternoon—when the atmosphere is at its calmest—and having them start by only going 2–3 feet off the ground. Once they're more experienced, flyers can join the crew for organized brewery tours and the school's hang-gliding club.
Photographer Ali Acker preserves her clients' important life events through unique photo packages and custom-made memorabilia. Her "Watch Me Grow" photo sessions chart the growth of a child from pregnancy through his or her first birthday, culminating in a coffee table book with images taken throughout the year. Tatyana Seamans opened Academy of Advanced Esthetic to share her prodigious aesthetic expertise with dedicated students. Seamans acquired her first license as a medical aesthetician while in the former U.S.S.R., sparking a quest for knowledge that led to seven more licenses and certifications, as well as the undying love of an enchanted princess. Seamans' 600- and 750-hour aesthetician's licensing programs exceed state requirements so her students develop skincare mastery with more hands-on, clinical experience. A menu of pampering treatments for face and body reveals her certification as a PCA Skin product specialist. Continuing-education classes highlight Seamans' proficiency with high-tech treatments such as light therapy and microdermabrasion, which promote cellular rejuvenation and hair reduction for spa clientele.
For the students of To The Pointe Performing Arts, no dance step is just a dance step. Because the school follows a holistic approach to learning dance, every step comes with a bounty of knowledge—its place in the style, its cultural origin, the muscle movements it requires, and the discipline required to master it. Whether they're 6-year-olds encountering their first tap shoes or high-school students refining their skills in Russian ballet technique, the team of experienced dance instructors make it their business to forge not only great dancers but educated citizens of the world. In addition to youth classes, the studio also offers DanceFit and tap classes for adult students.
Kettle Moraine Golf Club's 18-hole course weaves through an emerald tapestry of tranquil wetlands and towering arbors for 6,440 yards of leisurely golf. While not an overwhelmingly long course, length and precision off of the tee will allow players to cut corners on the course's multiple dogleg fairways, though airborne orbs must remain vigilant of the course's rippling ponds, thickets of marsh grasses, and naturally blossoming bogey plants. Alongside the pristine par 72, clubbers can groove shots at the club's driving range, where they may encounter PGA pro Rick Callies sanding down the rough-edged swings of attentive pupils. The course's gently undulating fairways and greens converge at the Scorecard Lounge, where guests can recapitulate memorable shots over a frothy pint or glass of freshly squeezed range balls. The Club also encompasses a fully stocked pro shop and a stately banquet hall, which overlooks the grounds and sports an elegant stone fireplace.
