Students of all skill levels can attend lessons or ball-machine practices, which are far more effective than playing wallball with a mannequin.
For more than 30 years, The Point Athletic Club has been a hub for sports training and achieving fitness goals. An expert team of athletes and trainers collaborate to help clients navigate the facilities, which include an indoor running track, two six-lane pools, and a 35-foot climbing wall featuring a range of lead routes. Now leading boot-camp classes at The Edge Sports Center, the registered strength and conditioning coach applies her wealth of fitness expertise to students looking to get in shape. Her workouts combine the benefits of cardio and strength training into a single rigorous routine. Students rapidly move from exercises on body balls to floor routines and lifting weights, keeping pulses pounding and muscles guessing. Classes are sometimes held on The Edge Sports Center's 22,000 square foot indoor field so students can eschew drawn-out stints on the treadmill.
Since 1977, Longmont Athletic Club has approached physical fitness from several angles, furnishing its two locations with equipment and training for athletes, casual athletic club goers, and families. The main location fills more than 90,000 square feet of space with machines from LifeFitness and Cybex, and more than 65 communal classes, including Zumba and spinning classes, plus indoor and outdoor tennis courts and pools, and amenities such as steam rooms, dry saunas, and jacuzzis. The course lineup covers a broad range of teaching styles, from the highly specialized instruction of gender-specific boxing to the casual provision of razor-edged disks for Extreme Ultimate frisbee. Located within the Robert E. Loup Jewish Community Center, JCC Sports & Fitness welcomes people of all religions, ethnicities, genders, and walks of life. Inside, members audition new sweatbands atop Precor, Cybex, StairMaster, and other cardio machines, or head to the weight room to test their strength by arm-wrestling equipment by Cybex and FreeMotion.
