HealQigong promotes health, enlightenment, and spiritual discovery with the 5,000-year-old Chinese practice of qigong. A central part of traditional Chinese medicine and practiced by more than 200 million people worldwide, qigong involves gentle but powerful physical movements and meditation that relieves pain and reduces stress. Before healing begins, the patient states his or her degree of stress on a 1–10 scale, with 10 being excruciating and 1 being sleeping on a bed of mashed potatoes. During the one-hour proceeding, a healer moves his or her hands over the patient's body without contact, acting as a channel for the universe's healing energy to pass through.
The Christmas Palace first opened as a seasonal business idea 20 years ago. Today, the expansive holiday department store receives waves of visitors year round who stroll amid more than 30 styles of faux Christmas trees, shelves full of elegant ornaments, and novelty items such as a 38-inch Santa swinging on a hammock. Collectors stock up on train sets and Department 56 village-collection pieces, and gift givers load their sleighs with goods from Fontanini, a business that began sculpting nativity scenes more than 100 years ago in Italy.
Spa rooms segue seamlessly into nature-inspired amenities at Spa 66, connecting visitors to a waterfall oasis, lush gardens, and vitamin-D-spouting sun. The spa staff uses salves and products crafted from fresh, locally sourced ingredients during their treatments, which run the gamut from peppermint-scented massages to skin-brightening facials. Spa goers can relax and and enjoy many services including the key lime pedicure, ayuvedic shiradhara, and honey herbal moisturizing body wrap.
In between treatments, patrons can sip from flutes of champagne, nibble on fresh fruit, or wander the peaceful grounds, including a lanai garden. Zen 66, the spa's yoga center, conducts Sky Yoga classes at sunrise, during which students can hold yoga poses that nearly touch the clouds at the Pier Top of the Hyatt Pier Sixty-Six. Numerous other outdoor classes grant sparkling views of the yachts that traverse the Intracoastal Waterway, and of a boat dock where guests search the waterline for merpeople.
