Treasure Coast Surf's instructor Andres Arroyave has ridden waves in Colombia, Costa Rica, Panama, and Puerto Rico. Given this depth of international surfing experience, he doesn't have too much trouble teaching technique to beginning and intermediate riders on the East Coast. His methods see that individuals learn to stand up on the board and ride independently, while never interfering with the enjoyment and relaxation they derive from the sport.
Certified CrossFit trainer Rob Davis and his team of trainers rely the system's on muscle confusion and functional strength workouts to boost the fitness of students of all ages, sizes, and experience levels. At CrossFit Triple D—where the three D's are desire, discipline, and dedication—free weights, kettlebells, and medicine balls occupy the space between patriotically painted walls. Members push through CrossFit routines both inside and outdoors, completing obstacle courses that include everything from tire flips to sled pushes. Workouts also rotate daily, ensuring that muscles never tire of strength, cardio, and endurance routines that might include everything from situps and jump rope sessions to box jumps and burpees. Rob and his trainers aim for a healthy balance between guiding individuals and fostering teamwork, often reminding recruits that "we can't make you want it, but we can help you get there."
