United Cheer's coaches train aspiring cheerleaders aged 3 and older, teaching skills from basic forward rolls to more advanced back handsprings and standing tumbling. Along the way, they follow a "perfection before progression" approach, ensuring safety by requiring students to perfect basics before moving on to higher-level moves.
Live-fire training takes place at local ranges such as Winchester Gallery Gun Store.
9mm, .40- and .380-caliber handguns are available to rent.
Jason Whitaker has a singular focus when it comes to firearms training: handguns. The NRA-certified instructor starts beginners with the NRA Pistol Class, which teaches novices to safely operate semi-automatic handguns and revolvers. Beyond shooting fundamentals, Whitaker can prepare pupils for the written and live-fire portions of the concealed-handgun-license test. Classes are available in Fort Worth and Tyler.
Co-owners Jana Holland and Julie Parsons believe that yoga's benefits can reach anyone willing to try the art. After several hundred hours of training, they opened Divine Center of Yoga as a springboard for a diverse student base, hoping to bring guests of all backgrounds together with classes on several posing styles. Their emphasis on acceptance is apparent in their teaching etiquette: they provide modified stretches for all skill levels and accommodate visitors with chronic ailments or injuries. The wheelchair-accessible studio also offers private lessons for pupils stuck in Celtic knot pose.
