At Fitness Kung Fu Miami, head instructor Dennys shares 30 years of martial arts experience with his students in classes that take a modern approach to fitness. Fitness courses build an exercise regiment around moves found in kung fu, boxing, and kickboxing, mixing in intervals of plyometric and isometric exercise. Dennys designs each workout not only to develop stronger, healthier bodies, but also to encourage students' confidence in their own abilities to grow over time. Also available are Wing Chun Kung Fu classes, where instructors use a unique method to teach the original system to students.
A fourth-degree black belt and international competitor for the national Cuban tae kwon do team, Alain Alvarez is no stranger to hard work. After retiring from international competition in 1998, Alain decided to turn his talents to training others through fun, inventive, and effective boot-camp classes and personal-training sessions. Each class maintains a furious pace, as students sweat and bound through body-weight exercises, sprints, agility drills, and anvil juggling. Sessions also integrate fun group activities such as tug of war, potato-sack races, and tag-team butter churning. Alain preaches that exercise can improve not just physical but also mental performance, and conducts classes on the beach, in a parking lot, or on the grassy fields of a local park.
Though Suleiman Yousef's muscular arms, tattoos, and shaven head present a tough, masculine exterior, the professional mixed-martial-arts fighter maintains that his biggest influence was his mom. As a single mother raising three kids on her own, she still found the time to direct his boundless energy into athletics and enroll him in many different styles of martial-arts classes. Today, Yousef not only competes in professional MMA fights, but he also owns and operates Monsters Training Center, where he channels his athletic prowess to aid others in whipping into shape. Throughout the week, industry professionals lead martial-arts and fitness classes ranging from the grappling fighting techniques of Brazilian jujitsu to the high-intensity routines of boot camp. To start wee ones on a path to fitness, the center offers kids' martial-arts classes, which are designed to enhance kids' physical health and instill them with the confidence to handle bullies and impress future prom dates with their ability to crack lunch trays with a single karate chop.

Miami Shooters Club rents rifles and pistols.
There's no question as to whether one of Miami Shooters Club's students hits his or her target. The results are audible, since the NRA-certified instructors use steel targets during their pistol and rifle courses. Small class sizes also set Miami Shooters Club apart. Typically, there's an instructor for every three students, which allows shooters to master more advanced techniques including rapid fire and firing while kneeling.
