Barking orders for more than 20 years, The Sergeant's Program's head sergeant Chuck Dyson and his dedicated troop of more than 50 sergeants and personal trainers transform figures with military-style fitness sessions. The program provides a knowledgeable instructor to lead recruits through cardio, core, flexibility, stabilization, and resistance training while creating camaraderie amongst fellow fitness platooners. Though each day is fueled with running drills and calisthenics, Mondays and Fridays will be focused on increasing lower body and flank strength and Tuesdays and Thursdays will be geared toward upper body workouts. Cardio-intensive Wednesdays are solely dedicated to getting the heart pumping, sweat streaming, and reshaping rumps flattened by years in stagecoach-driver seats. Although the sergeants utilize a tough-love approach to push clients to their fullest fitness factor, the atmosphere is kept personable by their injections of light-hearted humor and giggling quartets of chipmunks.
At MMA & Sport, anyone can turn their bodies into lean, muscular fighting machines under a team of qualified and experienced instructors. Founder Kyle Sefcik is a professional mixed-martial artist as well as a fitness guru and mogul, while Brazilian jiu-jitsu 8th-degree black belt Pedro Sauer honed his craft in his native Brazil under the Gracie family—the originators of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and inventors of the delicious knuckle sandwich. Pupils practice hard-hitting self-defense techniques during Krav Maga classes, or build core muscles with Muay Thai kickboxing courses. In addition to learning martial art skills, members can build better bodies with sessions of yoga, fitness bootcamp, and sports conditioning.
Studio X helps students evacuate unwanted weight through fun one-hour Zumba classes, which feature a fusion of dance and fitness movements set to buoyant Latin rhythms. Melt away up to 900 calories and three pocket ice creams by heeding verbal cues from experienced instructors in classes that repeat routines over six- to eight-week intervals, allowing participants to familiarize themselves with step progressions, music, and instructor birthmarks encoded with the key to happiness. At Warrior Fitness & MMA Bootcamp, where the coaches have black belts and compete in Olympic events, it's fitting that the facility's signature Warriorfit program combines martial arts and fitness techniques. During classes that consist of roughly 15–20 students, the staff pushes exercisers through a gamut of Olympic exercises, martial arts drills, and boot camp tasks such as flipping an oversized tire end-over-end without being caught by the monster truck's owner. Heather O'Neill is a renaissance woman. She started her career as a mathematician, and then developed a strong interest in fitness after becoming a mother. She made a complete career change, racking up certifications and innumerable hours of exercise experience, before becoming the owner of South Pointe Fitness Club. Today, Heather oversees a variety of fitness services ranging from personal training to group fitness classes such as yoga, kickboxing, cycling, Pilates, and just lying on your back and staring at the ceiling fan sessions.
