Dave Gerry started the Princeton Club with three simple tenets in mind: great trainers, exceptional equipment, and easy access. To realize that dream, he assembled a team of American College of Sports Medicine–certified personal trainers to helm the cardio and strength-training centers 24 hours a day.
Whether working out solo, in a group class, or with a trainer to remind them that bench-pressing beehives is safer with a spotter, guests can drop their young ones off at the free childcare center. Splashes fill the natatorium as swimmers paddle across the six-lane lap pool, as the resistance-current pool's adjustable waves enable guests to walk in place. A dip in the whirlpool soothes stress, and the steam room's eucalyptus aromatherapy and sauna's rejuvenating heat send bodies back into the world refreshed. Above the club, tennis and soccer players soak in vistas of Madison as they duke it out on the rooftop garden's turf. The competition continues indoors on basketball, racquetball, and volleyball courts.

At Prairie Athletic Club, fitness is not dependent on the weather. No matter your sport, you can find a space to play it while avoiding the snow. The club boasts an indoor soccer field, track and field space, racquetball courts, and basketball courts. If swimming is your forte, you can dip into the family pool, six lane lap pool with deep water, or the 90 degree warm water pool. After a cardio workout, build up muscle strength in the weight room or dip into the adult and family whirlpools and infrared saunas to relax tense muscles.
At Kits Sports Center, children and adults can play basketball, baseball, soccer, or flag football. Youth programs like preschool PE, co-ed dodgeball, floor hockey, kickball, and beginning basketball instill teamwork, discipline, agility, and other skills. Adults can socialize in women's or men's soccer and volleyball programs, or push it to the max during a Flight Athletic Fitness Training workout, which incorporates sprints, drills, and bench-pressing of coaches.
All of the trainers at Nate's Premium Athletes hold exercise-science degrees with athletic-training minors. They use this expertise to develop training programs that focus on their clients' individual weaknesses, such as strength, balance, and agility. So far, the trainers have worked with more than 85 Division I athletes.
The air inside the facility fills with the rhythmic taps of green tennis balls volleying across courts, a staccato symphony punctuated by the whoops of players perfecting their game. A typical morning at The Naperville Tennis Club reflects its dedication to fostering an atmosphere of recreation while helping members achieve their personal bests. Alongside open play, a team of seasoned pros helms a host of tennis programs for adults and juniors that range from basic techniques to competitive training programs.
Away from the courts, the club?s outdoor L-shaped swimming pool beckons aquanauts to leap from the diving board into six lanes of sparkling waters. Swim lessons help unleash kids? inner merpeople, and adult programs are a chance to interact with other grownups while doing laps and exchanging business cards midbackstroke.
