Cindy Robertson, the owner of Out Yonder Dog Training, started working with man’s best friend more than a decade ago, and eventually made it her career after graduating from the Tom Rose School for professional dog trainers, in 2007. Since then, she’s worked as a detection-dog handler as wells as a trainer and evaluator for the AKC Canine Good Citizen Program, a national obedience-certification program. Today, she helps pups learn to sit, stay, and tell the difference between a salad fork and a dinner fork during private or group obedience classes that cover all the basic commands.
Banfield Pet Hospital, open seven days a week, one of the largest general veterinary practices in the country with more than 750 U.S. hospitals, cares for cuddly companions. Just like humans, pets need to be checked and examined so that the veterinarian has the opportunity to help prevent and identify any potential health issues. Pet-owners can relax as the experienced and friendly Harpinder Singh, D.V.M., leaves no floppy ear unturned during a thorough animal examination, culminating in the feline-favorite upside-down drop test.

Kathy Longwell, the pet purveyor behind All God's Creatures, draws on her experience in boarding facilities and kennels to care for dogs, cats, birds, and lizards on their home turf. The licensed, bonded, and insured caretaker has also earned certifications in animal CPR, first aid, and professional pet sitting through Pet Sitters International. When she isn't looking after pets and houses in their owners' absence, she takes dogs out for a stroll, runs errands, and looks after her own animal menagerie, which includes a german shepherd, cats, and a parrot that squawks ideas for movie premises in the dead of night.
The menu at Tower Dogs boasts 14 time-tested dog breeds and more than 20 topping options to perfectly personalize them. Take a left-coast bite out of the California dog, which is dressed in bacon, avocado, grilled onion, cheese, and brown mustard ($4.75). Or test taste buds' limits with a caliente dog, a spicy combination of habanero sausage, grilled onion, red peppers, and sour cream ($4.75). Though Tower Dogs serves an average Joe (a regular dog with mustard, onion, and relish), there are also plenty of options for the hungrier-than-average Joe. Chester's big bambino features Italian sausage, marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, grilled onion, and peppers, while the last call dog is a frenzy of Polish sausage, egg, hash browns, and nacho cheese or country gravy. Tower Dogs also serves tofu dogs with vegan chili; Thai vegan dogs made with peanut sauce, red peppers, and cilantro; and dogless creations such as nachos.
