Houston Flight Training’s fleet of nine aircraft includes Cessna propeller planes and Piper small aircraft, but the most impressive part of their lineup remains their six instructors. As individuals, they boast thousands of hours of flight instruction, with even more spent in their own training with and enjoyment of airplanes. They open the sky to new students, taking their charges on Discovery Flights and giving each passenger a turn at the controls. Their thrilling sample only begins the training, as they conduct full classroom and flight certification courses for private pilots.
Chris Green's passion for basketball has led him from the courts of his high school to the major arenas where he played with the ABA West All-Star Team. Though he was bestowed with many awards and accomplishments throughout his career, Green realized that his life's calling was not with basketball, but with helping people improve their lives through fitness. Eager to use his athletic talents to make a difference, he graduated with a degree in kinesiology and became certified in personal training through the International Sports and Science Association.
Today, Green combines the athletic prowess he cultivated on the basketball court with a positive, yet intense style of training during six-week boot camp programs, personal training sessions, and motivational coaching sessions. Dedicated to propelling students towards their fitness goals?whether those goals include losing weight, toning muscle, or squeezing into child-sized giraffe costumes?he supplements training sessions with regular motivational videos. Green also conducts regular self-improvement seminars on nutrition and body image.

A registered school of the Yoga Alliance, Yoga Rasa takes its name from the Indian word rasa, a term whose meaning encompasses both the experiential "taste or essence of any impression" and the spiritual "nectar of life." With this at the heart of their practice, the teachers of Yoga Rasa strive to nurture clients three dimensionally through services that heal the body, mind, and soul. To do so, they oversee a facility that spans three fitness studios, a massage and spa space, a chiropractor's office, a salon, and a boutique. Each of these spaces aids guests in their exploration of yoga as well as ayurvedic healing, creating a community that encourages lifelong yogic practices.
AV Flight Simulations' director of operations, Kevin Gabriel, is an experienced pilot, and even he would agree that not everything about contemporary flight training is perfect. Enter the Redbird FMX flight simulator, an FAA-approved advanced aviation-training device with lifelike motions, controls, and graphics. Inside the simulator, students and AV Flight Simulations' certified instructors can freeze situations in real time, giving them the opportunity to analyze problems as they occur. These issues could range from being in a skewed holding pattern to the plane joining a flock of migrating birds. This advanced simulator training can also be a more cost-effective alternative to traditional flight schools on account of rising fuel costs and other expensive expenses. Though students will have to helm a plane eventually, simulators help them get certified with various lessons, including instrument rating, proficiency, and practical tests.
