The expert rafting guides at Adventure Calls Outfitters, Inc. lead trips down three waterways: the Genesee River, Cattaraugus Creek, and the Salmon River. As they glide through calm waters and swirl through rapids, rafters drink in the rugged scenery, occasionally glimpsing fish and harmless snakes. Under the watchful care of an ACA-certified rafting guide, visitors safely ride the wild current of the river, learning about the unsullied countryside of western New York. The scenic trips are available most of the year, although in the cooler months, wetsuits are recommended.
The Wall's bouldering-only climbing facility beckons visitors to scale simulated peaks with angles of up to 90 degrees. Technicolor foot- and handholds pepper the walls, creating 62 different routes that challenge everyone from beginners to Harvard-educated mountain goats. To help to scale these manmade peaks, staff leads both introductory and intermediate bouldering classes. Additionally, the staff frequently changes routes to keep each climb fresh.
On Friday and Saturday nights, Lighthouse Lanes gets bowlers grooving to a light show set to music during cosmic bowling. Even a day spent at open bowling is electrifying, with bowlers sending bright colored balls down glossy lanes. Automatic scorers keep track of who's in the lead, so players don't have to assign someone to take video. Lane-side activities include a video-game arcade and a cozy lounge filled with flat-screen televisions.
