One of a family of comedy clubs serving as key laugh generators in more than 25 cities, Columbus Funny Bone sits in the shopping and entertainment hub of Easton Town Center. Since 1987, luminaries such as Drew Carey, Jim Breuer, and Dave Chappelle have taken the stage in front of audiences enjoying drinks and the bounty of a large food menu stocked with sandwiches as thick a first-grader's favorite book of knock-knock jokes, funnel-cake fries, and wings doused in a signature blueberry-habañero sauce.

Singer, rapper, and comedian Wendy Ho brings her unique blend of bold truth-telling onstage, airing out her joke-splattered dirty laundry in the process. With an act that includes lewd jokes, filthy songs, and off-the-wall sketches, Wendy Ho pushes the bounds of offensive to the breaking point, eliciting gales of laughter from audiences. Songs include her cult hit "Bitch I Stole Yo Purse"—named Logo's Funniest Video of 2008—and a slew of new tunes and stories keeps even veteran fans entertained. Reserved ticketholders get a chance to meet up with Wendy Ho for a photo op, preserving laugh-filled nights. The show takes place in the elegant Pythian Theater, juxtaposing the performance's raunch with the genteel architecture of the former secret-society meeting place.

Formed in the glory days of heavy metal, Queensrÿche rocks audiences with songs that reveal the fierce polish of 30 years of evolving artistry. The band's distinctive mix of prog rock, metal, and subliminal messaging rocketed their Empire album up the charts, launching hits such as "Silent Lucidity," "Jet City Woman," and "Best I Can." Normally reserved only for members of Queensrÿche's fan club, a backstage meet-and-greet lets a small group of the devoted make personal connections with the four lords of loudness, shaking their lightning-fast hands and comparing headbanging techniques. With experience opening for Nickelback and Staind, opening band The Fifth's wailing guitars rally fist pumps and head thrashes as raging as a riverbed full of angry bulls.

The Creole Choir of Cuba lifts up audiences with joyous melodies, vocal harmonies, and sung stories from their Haitian and Cuban ancestors, all of which have helped the group earn a Grammy nomination and praise from the New York Times. Today’s deal teams with event organizer CityMusic Columbus to highlight the 10-piece ensemble’s Ohio premiere and matching argyle socks. Classic Cuban tunes such as “Son de la Loma” boogie with songs plucked from the ensemble’s 200 years of Haitian heritage. “Fey” (“Leaf”) honors a mother whose son has been shipped away for political dissidence, and “Ou Pa Nan Chaj” (“You Are Not in Charge”) teems with humor as the choir’s ladies bully a male vocalist with their backsides. Clad in bold, African-inspired colors and patterns, the musicians infuse the space with a party-like atmosphere as they dance, bang drums, and invite concertgoers onstage for impromptu potato-sack races.

Life in Color starts parties in cities all over the globe with a vibrant mix of electronica, acrobats, pyrotechnics, and, of course, gallons upon gallons of paint. Alongside DJ-in-residence David Solano, the Rebirth spectacular features pulse-pounding performances from a different guest artist on each tour stop. While remixes sizzle and original tracks thump, performers that might include stilt-walkers and contortionists display their powers of balance and knot-tying. And at the evening's peak, an explosion of colorful paint douses the dancing crowd.
