The Humane Society of Northeast Georgia rescues healthy companion animals and then houses, feeds, and cares for them until they find forever homes. The shelter also provides basic wellness and medical services, including vaccinations and spay or neuter surgeries. As part of the shelter's efforts to reduce the homeless-pet population, it teamed up with local business Nuvo Visage to create the SNIP Fund. The fund works to ensure that low-income families can spay or neuter their cats and dogs for free, preventing any unwanted offspring and fostering lifelong companionship between pets and owners. In addition to hosting a yearly fundraiser, Nuvo Visage donates a portion of its profits to the SNIP Fund, and its founder helped create the application process that determines which candidates' pets receive the no-cost surgery.
Despite some seemingly intimidating treatments—vaccinations, shots, and spaying/neutering—pets cheerfully wag their tails at Peachtree Animal Clinic. The animal-loving staffers go beyond the call of duty when animals are concerned, providing pets with medical care and even offering adoption services to strays and rescued animals. They also specialize in preventive treatments, dental care, microchipping, and boarding.
With spa facials, massages, and nail painting, Swanky Paws Pet Spa sounds like a retreat for owners, not their pets. But the pet CPR/First Aid–certified staff members tailor all of their services for the cats and dogs they serve. They treat furry friends to a wide range of pampering services and specialize in fine hand-scissoring for all breeds. Even the basic bath indulges critters with two washings, a deep-cleaning shampoo, a coat conditioner, and a full brush-out. Pets then revel in treatment fit for Air Bud with a breath spray and a sanitary and pad trim, and strut home sporting seasonal bows or bandanas.
In addition to grooming pets, the staff also supervises a small-dog daycare where pups under 25 pounds can romp or discuss which designer’s shoes taste best.
Who Let The Pawz Out Pet Sitting Service is Jay's other name. As the owner and only employee, she's able to build bonds with pets, from small dogs to rabbits and birds. She's also a member of the Pet Sitter's Associates and keeps furry friends safe with her CPR and first aid certifications. When she isn't spoiling her clients' canines with homemade treats, she spends time with her twin cocker spaniels. She also supports the Anti-Cruelty Society by helping abused and abandoned pets find loving homes and respectable office jobs.
