Male and female competitors climb over rope walls, splash through mud pits, sneak under barbwire, and climb over oversized tires in a goodwill 5K and 10K race. Runners of all skill levels gather at the start dressed however they like, sprinting through the course shirtless or even in mesh smoking jackets. During the 10 a.m. wave, racers are encouraged to don their favorite patriotic garb. Everyone competes at their own pace, and all participants receive a Medal of Honor to hang round their neck upon completion.
Past events have attracted up to 2,100 racers, all of whom are treated to a post-race, beer-filled celebration with live music from local bands. Photographers document the entire event, capturing a portfolio of epic action shots and barbaric yawps. Water stations are peppered throughout the course, and a gear check allows racers to safely stow belongings with a watchful staff member.

Dallas Athletes Racing's director, Dan Jones, likes to pepper his runs with fun. He creates themed events throughout the year, starting with a St. Patrick's Day Triathlon and culminating with a costumed Monster Triathlon held around Halloween. He hosts a load of events, but one of his favorites is the Wounded Warrior Half Marathon and 10k—an event that raised over $60,000 to benefit military charities in 2013 alone. Whatever type of event he's organizing, Dan waits at the finish line to witness the runners experience "the satisfaction of completing the event and enjoying themselves."

Guests need only bring a lust for life along with their favorite wine and snacks, as they uncork and follow a progression of easy-to-follow instructions. Each class focuses on one specific design, allowing students to follow along with others while adding their own flair to images such as gnomes or Italian waterways. Students can create their own simulacra of famous works including Van Gogh’s Starry Night, Munch’s The Scream, and Monet’s Bridge Over a Pond of Water Moccasins. Multiple classes are scheduled each week and include all painting supplies as well as ice buckets and corkscrews. The artistic educators at Painting with Patience can also wrangle groups of 10–25 artisans for adult or children’s private painting parties.
A nine-hole course carved through a charming residential area, golfers loop Timber Links? 3,043-yard circuit twice over for an 18-hole round. Undulating fairways set up shots on greens blanketed in pristine Bermuda grass, where putting strokes must contend with subtle slopes, fast-rolling surfaces, and rogue windmills hoping to advance beyond mini golf. The purring engines of golf carts convey clubbers over cresting hills, allowing players to save energy for flush drives or tricky approaches. By playing the same nine holes twice, players get two chances to tame the par-five ninth hole, a 520-yard juggernaut that requires players to drive or drop-kick balls with gusto.
Course at a Glance: * 9-hole, par-35 course * Bermuda grass greens * Length of 3,043 yards from the farthest tees * Four tee options * Link to scorecard

DFW Shooters Academy hopes to foster safe and responsible gun ownership, and they've worked hard to earn a reputation consistent with their goal. To this end, the facility has acquired certifications from the Texas Department of Public Safety and the NRA. In addition to teaching pupils safe firearm operation with additional training on state of the art laser simulators, instructors help customers purchase the firearm that is most appropriate for them to ensure safe and consistent performance. DFW Shooters Academy also leads self-protection courses that do not require the use of guns.
