  • Simply Nutrition
College is a place that often kindles lasting friendships, as well as lasting eating habits based on haphazard diets of chips and day-old pizza. Chris Sanchez and Patrick Ortiz, proprietors of Simply Fit Meals, have managed to buck the latter part of this trend. The friendship they forged at the University of Houston continued after graduation, even as Patrick pursued a career in hotel management and Chris entered the world of marketing, eventually serving as store marketing director for Whole Foods. Their shared passion for healthy eating brought their disparate career paths together to form Simply Fit Meals, an amalgamation of Patrick's chef skills and Chris's marketing prowess. The challenge behind each one of Simply Fit Meals' recipes involves finding an equal balance between nutrition and flavor so that clients can stick to a regimen that's easy to maintain, unlike fad diets that involve raw foods consumed only in prime-numbered portions. The science of it, says Chris, is making it taste as if it's been freshly made, even after reheating, and to this end, Chris and Patrick are both avid consumers of their own meals. Chris claims he could eat—and has eaten—their mac 'n' cheese for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The culinary team uses locally raised, free-range meats such as chicken and bison in virtually all of their creations, and concocts fresh-made ingredients whenever possible. The in-house dietitian guides clients toward their own fitness goals, as opposed to those dictated by fashion magazines or sentient elevators, who often lack tact.

  • Underground Fitness Revolution
Nathan Trenteseaux, owner of Underground Fitness Revolution, values two simple attributes in his clients. He looks for intensity and dedication. He provides students with 1,273 square feet of padded flooring and modern exercise equipment??kettlebells, battling ropes, TRX suspension trainers??to discover for themselves if they have these qualities. He helps them along with plenty of personal attention in small group classes, though that's not the first step. Initially, Nate shows new students the basics, requiring that they display the mental fortitude to get through his introductory lesson before he lets them join the rotation of regular classes or wear a cape that says "superhero" on it.

  • Curves
A fitness center designed exclusively for women, Curves puts members through a circuit of hydraulic resistance machines designed to promote weight loss, protect against osteoporosis, and help to relieve arthritis. An experienced trainer is always nearby to help to manage participants’ machine maneuvering and muscle making. The hydraulic machines use each member's body weight, fitness level, and water bottle's horoscope to create an appropriate level of resistance, decreasing the risk of soreness or injury. Because traditional lift-and-lower motions create bulky muscles, each machine uses push-and-pull motions to create toned, lean muscles perfect for crushing a grapefruit without looking like you can.

  • Medi-Weight Loss Clinics Gainesville
The doctors, dietitians, and counselors at Medi-Weightloss Clinic understand that losing weight is a battle fought on two fronts: the physical and the emotional. Periods of stress, compulsive eating, or despair can torpedo the physical benefits of even the most rigorous exercise regimens. For this reason, the physician-supervised weight-loss programs take a five-sided approach. Different tiers incorporate elements of the physical, such as medical exams and exercise regimens, as well as emotional support and ongoing weekly counseling to keep spirits high and let participants vent about the increasing popularity of wine-and-donut-tasting parties throughout the weight-loss journey.
