Sometimes it's all about the little things in life. What supplemental courtesies do you include with your main services to leave clients with a smile on their face?
We always clean out the inside of our customers' PCs to free them from dust—which can cause fans to not work, in turn causing other major issues. So your computer goes home clean on the inside as well as repaired.
Do you or your staff have any special certifications or degrees?
[We are] factory-certified by Brother, Compaq, Dell, HP, Ricoh, and Toshiba
What aspect of your job, or the services you offer, most often surprises people?
There is not one antivirus out there that can stop all viruses from attacking your computer, but people can't seem to understand that. They think that because they have antivirus on their computer, they should not get viruses, and some even get angry. So just because you have software on your computer to protect it, doesn't mean you cant get a virus.
Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
We are a local business that is very involved in our community, as we support our local Lions Club and are a member of the Shriners. We like to give back to our community.
Singer-songwriter Christina Herche’s voice and guitar skills are heard at venues both big and small. She has played for the crowd while in bands—including The Emmons Sisters and The Ivy Street Band—and solo. When not onstage or in the studio, Herche teaches budding musicians how to play guitar and its more difficult cousin, air guitar.
In the recently remodeled sunlit studio, yogis of all shapes sprawl out on colorful mats and towels. They stretch and meditate in the sauna-like air, which is heated to 105 degrees to aid flexibility and draw out toxins. When class begins, students follow a certified instructor through 26 postures and two breathing exercises. After class, they head back to the lobby to rehydrate or head to the changing room to check their cell phones, pagers, or portable telegraph machines—all of which instructors request stay outside the studio. Students of all levels and athletic abilities experience the benefits of these sessions, including enhanced strength, reduced stress, and increased energy.
NewSongs School of Music expands instrument IQs with a medley of musical instruction courses for adults and kids age 5 and older, covering everything from the drums to the flute to vocals. Exchange air guitars for solid strings in the four-week Intro to Guitar course ($85), which pairs no more than six students age 9–12 with an experienced-eared instructor, or facilitate a toddler jam band with the one-hour Morning Music for Little Musicians ($15 for one drop-in class), during which tiny superstars develop rhythm, pitch, and industry connections. A musical theater course ($18 for one drop-in class) invites students to practice acting and Broadway-style song, and a week of Talent Camp, held in half- and full-day ($24/day or $108/week) sessions, lets participants experience camp camaraderie without the threat of bunk-bed bogeymen. NewSongs School of Music holds classes at a variety of days and times to accommodate tight schedules, and it employs a bevy of experienced, professional instructors.
Since 1977, Huntington Learning Center has employed a battalion of highly trained tutors to help students triumph over math misgivings and phonics fears. Young scholars ages 5–17 begin their gold-star-seeking journey with an academic evaluation lasting 3.5 to 4 hours to pinpoint their individual needs. After the exam, the center's staff will create a detailed analysis of each student's strengths, personal goals, and spitball-accuracy stats. In one-hour one-on-one sessions, tutors encourage pupils to work at their own pace while focusing on areas in which improvement is needed. Huntington often welcomes parents into its centers of cerebration for complimentary workshops on creating a learning environment free of distractions such as stress and constant gossip about the family dog.
As a nationally renowned tutoring program, Sylvan Learning Center helps kids catch up, keep up, and get ahead in school with a personalized tutoring approach for students of all ages. During the initial visit, children will partake in a Sylvan Skills Assessment, which highlights any trouble spots and serves as a baseline for future progress. Scholars will then traverse four tailored tutoring sessions, which cover topics such as math, reading, mindreading, writing, and study skills. Sylvan issues regular progress reports, providing parents with a comprehensive look into their son or daughter's ongoing sessions and progress in pronouncing quinoa.
