  • Sawtooth Winery
A fully operational winery since 1987, Sawtooth Winery was once under the care of the Pintler family, who had used their parcel of land as pasture for years. But the rolling, south-facing hills were a bit too robust to be limited to one use, and in 1982 15 acres of grapes were planted. Today, Sawtooth is one of the largest vineyards in Idaho, and those same vines produce the plump grapes destined become one of the eight wine varietals crafted onsite. Those wines have garnered Sawtooth a variety of honorable accolades and press, including a Winery of the Month designation from the Idaho Wine Commission.

  • Kilted Dragon Brewing
Oftentimes, sipping on a cold beer is just something to enjoy?not something to ponder the origins of. But for the two guys behind Kilted Dragon Brewing, it's a labor of love. When Jeremy Canning and Cory Matteucci met, they shared a common interest, not just in homebrewing, but in brewing something different. Joining forces, the two eventually outgrew their homebrew rigs and upgraded on all fronts?starting their brewery in a large space with brand-new equipment and eventually launching a tap house, where they can regularly be found pulling pours. Today, the two hand craft a dozen unique, original beers, including seasonal favorites that rotate through the taps throughout the year.

  • Payette Brewing
Payette Brewing Co. is an interesting mix of tradition and rebellion. It's founder, Mike Francis, gave up the corporate life to roll the die on a new venture in one of America's most time-honored industries. Using a 15-barrel brewing system, Mike and his staff cultivate high-quality brews in traditional styles?stouts, ales, and lagers?that aim to embody the adventurous spirit of Idaho and their own penchant for skiing, hiking, and kayaking. Inside the tasting room, they pour pint glasses or offer smaller samples for those who can't commit to one beer just yet.

  • Paint 'n Sip
After an innocent vacation to Boise captured the hearts of Jennifer and Marcelo Godoi, the duo moved to the city and planted the roots of Paint ‘n Sip. There the Godois beckon artists of every predilection and skill level to tie on an apron and unleash their inner Rembrandts. A calendar full of different subjects and themes teaches pupils to capture the glinting light on a sunflower’s petals, find the right hue of carmine to depict an overflowing wine glass, or dignify a trio of birds by filling their nest with monocles. At night's end, participants bring their dried work home to hang on the living-room wall or mantel.
