Held on the Anaheim Hilton Hotel's lanai and sunset decks, Kids Help Children is a fundraiser that will benefit the CHOC Children's Hospital. Celebrities such as Vanessa Hudgens from High School Musical, Chelsea Staub of Disney's Jonas, Chyler Leigh from Grey's Anatomy and many others are scheduled to make red carpet appearances, giving kids photo and autograph ops with the young stars who will be within reach of a very long arm. They'll even see performances by Ariana Grande of Nickelodeon's Victorious, as well as Savvy & Mandy from Radio Disney and others. During the event, kids can win prizes for themselves and CHOC patients, chat with Sea World reps, conquer obstacle courses filled with wild animals, and eat their fill of refreshments.
The staff members at Sylvan Learning's numerous centers understand that each child learns differently. Therefore, they don’t try to implement a uniform tutoring system; instead, they design custom lesson programs based on the results of a skills assessment using diagnostic tools and one-on-one interviews.
Tutors work with students from pre-kindergarten through grade 12, illuminating topics ranging from basic reading and writing to remembering complex algebraic formulas without having them tattooed on your chest. Many of Sylvan’s instructors work in local schools, so they are intimately familiar with common curricula and understand how to gear lessons toward optimal results. Camps and after-school and summer classes can ready high-schoolers for the rigors of the ACT or the SAT, or they can help students to wow college-admissions officers with their superior essay-writing skills.
The instructors at Haleh Art Studio can turn a blank canvas into a work of art. They regard each new student with the same sense of limitless possibility, realizing that the right instruction and motivation can help turn anyone into a skilled artist. During drawing and painting classes, with special expertise in acrylics, instructors nurture artistic talents with structured lessons that slowly build technique and confidence. The difficulty of the work increases over time, until students can create their own photo-realistic self-portraits to replace lost driver’s licenses.
During one-on-one appointments, instructors from Applied Scholastics Tutoring of Orange County help kids sharpen their school skills. Students in grades ranging from kindergarten through eighth grade are invited to improve their math, language, and studying techniques, and they don't even have to leave home to do it. Tutors bring their proprietary Applied Scholastics materials right to pupils' homes.

Professional tutors help students make quick progress at Tutoring Club, where the staff relies on individualized instruction and a confidence-building structure. A low student-to-teacher ratio helps tutors track the progress of each student during classes that focus on math, writing, study skills, test prep, and more.
