The Zone Fitness and Wellness Center divides its fitness space into private rooms for personal training, group aerobics, and sipping on smoothies. The workout area is lined with strength and cardio machines from notable manufacturers such as Hammer Strength and Life Fitness, which whir to life as guests embark on self-guided fitness regimens. Trainers conduct over 15 group classes in the aerobics room and provide individualized attention during private training sessions. As patrons exercise, the daycare-room staff keeps a watchful eye on tykes, and team members at the juice bar hand out post-workout refreshments.

When Schilling-Douglas first opened its doors in 1977, it became the first nationally accredited cosmetology school in the state. Over the years, it has become a dependable curator of talent in the eyes of many local salon owners, who are eager to bring graduates onto their own teams. While enrolled, students can pursue programs in cosmetology, nail technology, or teacher training. They hone their skills in a walk-in student salon, where their every technique is supervised by a licensed instructor. Though they're not pros yet, students do work with professional-grade products from brands such as Goldwell, KMS, Big Sexy, and OPI.
Since 2006, the staff at Fusion Fitness Center has fostered a welcoming space for their members to come and find fitness, challenging and encouraging them along the way. Rows of elite Precor cardio machines fill the floor of the main room, including treadmills, elliptical trainers, and bikes. Tucked around the corner in the group fitness room, trainers challenge members with 45-minute F.I.T.—functional interval training—classes, where exercisers toss medicine balls, swing kettlebells and heavy ropes, and stretch TRX suspension bands until they cry uncle. The trainers limit F.I.T. classes to six people so they can dole out ample individual attention.
The staff also helps members hone in on individual fitness goals, such as losing weight or running a marathon, during personal-training sessions. To fuel sweat sessions, staffers mix up smoothies filled with nourishing ingredients to help bodies recover or add resistance to tongue-curls.
