Though it’s only been open less than five years, Dearing Acting Studio has already prepared some of its students for roles on TV shows such as House, Modern Family, and Grey’s Anatomy. Much of the studio’s success hails from its staff of working actors, who lead students of all ages and experience levels toward their individual goal, whether that be performing in a Broadway play, starring in a commercial, or conducting a family meeting entirely in Shakespearean verse.
Life's A Stage Acting Studio teaches theatrical and commercial acting for kids/teens and adults.
Our class sizes are intimate for individualized attention. Whether you are just starting out, ready to get back into it, or interested in a career we'll help you achieve your goals.

Professional artists from both the local community and from around the world flock to Raw Roots Professional Performance Center. They help aspiring actors, singers, and dancers perfect their skills before helping them take over the stage in a professional setting through 12-week professional programs. They also lead community classes for beginning and intermediate performers and dancers such as modern dance, hip-hop technique, and beginner tap.
The Torch Theatre’s non-profit collective of acting troupers instruct students in long-form dramatic improvisation, helping them create emotionally true, half-hour scenes and stories out of thin air. Much like the improv comedy classes that impart the art of quippy punchlines and rubber-chicken mechanics, The Torch's introductory class helps stage-wary newbies with zero experience master the basic screwdrivers and crescent wrenches of on-the-spot character development, all while playing off of other actors. Dedicated, trained instructors—many of whom perform around the country and for discerning local wildlife—guide their apprentice thespians through the essentials, such as listening and support, trusting one's instincts, and investing in the moment rather than magic beans. As each actor taps into honest reactions and accents them with a touch of playfulness, they'll fuel the dramatic rocket ship that launches them to maximum theatric verisimilitude and other planets infested with giant insects. The course also covers stage direction, voice work, and post-performance rose showers.
