The Skin Boutique's epidermally savvy staff lovingly pampers sad faces and massages away bodily woes. Skin-brightening Image Skincare products help the four-layer face-lift tighten visages and increase cellular turnover rates to mine for fresh talent, and the facial hot-stone treatment opens pores and relaxes cheeks stressed from too much grinning. The esthetician will also inspect your face for UVA/UVB problem spots. During deep-tissue massages, a licensed therapist releases chronic tension and expels toxins with slow strokes and finger pressure. Back-coddlers then heat smooth, flat stones and place them strategically on guests' bodies to heighten the sense of relaxation already imparted by the spa's plush black-and-white chairs, glassy black flooring, and soothing purple accent pillows.
When and how did you first develop a passion for your work?
In July 2012, I started school for aesthetics and I realized when I got my first job how much I could impact a woman's self-image and self-esteem just through something as simple as an eyebrow wax. It's very empowering to me to be able to share my tricks and advice during waxing or facials to make women see that they can feel beautiful every day.
Do you offer your customers any extra perks?
Complimentary coffee, tea, and water. With an eyebrow wax, I fill and highlight brows for no extra charge. With eyelash extensions I seal the lashes for free.
What steps do you take to make your clients feel at ease?
I provide a clean environment. None of my cleaning supplies are in a back room or storage closet. I always make sure my aesthetics room smells great and that pillows and a warm blanket are provided for longer treatments. My door is frosted glass as well, and a lot of clients have expressed that they are thankful for the privacy.

Nicole McGinnis, owner of Reveal Salon & Aesthetics, reveres her clients' unique attributes. Although her salon's service menu lists a predictable cast of haircuts, facials, and manicures, McGinnis never follows a formula when it comes to administering treatments. Instead, she evaluates the client's traits and hopes, and customizes the treatment to fit. "I love making people feel pampered and cared for," she says. This also rings true of her staff, a crew of five stylists, one master barber, and a nail technician.
As a specialist in microdermabrasion and chemical peels, McGinnis expertly resurfaces skin and decks that are allergic to sandpaper. And, as a loyal consumer of Rhonda Allison skincare products, she assembles product suites that yield professional-grade results. According to McGinnis, "They use the purest ingredients (no dyes, colors perfumes, or additives) while also using the most effective formulas."
