But her main passion is teaching children about exercise, nutrition, and wellness as an instructor at Kids & Fitness. There, she and her team of dynamic staffers lead students ages 5-15 down the path of healthier lifestyles, pairing kid-friendly exercise classes with nutritional programs that stress the importance of healthy eating. Adults, teens, and families also get in on the act, shedding pounds and building confidence in a friendly, non-competitive environment.
With multiple certifications from the NRA and hand-to-hand combat expertise, it's no surprise Miami Shooters Club instructors are in demand?they've even taught seminars at the Miami-Dade Police Department. In private lessons and small group classes, they school clients on how to use firearms safely in almost any situation.
One showcase of instructors' skills is the concealed-weapon-certificate class, which takes place at Miami Shooters Club's University Park facility. Designed for complete beginners and expert sharpshooters alike, the course covers how to take a proper stance, grip the firearm, aim, and pull the trigger, as well as discussing some of the unique legal issues and ethical questions associated with concealed carry. At the end of the course, students safely discharge a weapon under instructor supervision, as required by Florida law.

The voices of certified personal trainers Zach Marcy and Alex Villegas boom across their fitness studio and outdoor parking lots, driving students through the high-intensity exercises of boot-camp classes throughout the week. Drawing from years of personal-training experience, the pair leads imaginative workouts that aim to hurdle students over weight-loss plateaus, adjusting movements to accommodate each student's level of fitness. In addition to workouts, trainers provide students with a fitness- and body-fat assessment. Clients can also attend Synergize Boot Camp’s bimonthly fitness seminars.
Pinecrest Community Center fosters community engagement with fitness classes, social events, and educational opportunities, all held in supportive group settings. Here, guests will find a fitness center with all the weights, core training equipment, and cardio workouts they need to slim down and squeeze back into their favorite childhood car seat. Classes are a main component of the center's mission, and the course topics here range from health and wellness to arts and education. Some examples include yoga and Pilates classes, modern dance and ballet, a Chinese-speaking course, and a mommy-and-me arts class. Additionally, the center also hosts lectures and seminars as well as informal game nights, so that members of the community can come together to socialize and engage in friendly competition.
Sammy Hernandez has achieved a lot of success during his basketball career?perhaps most notably, he played for George Mason University when the team reached the Final Four in 2006. However, Sammy might be most proud of his current position as founder of Sammys Full Court Prep. The program offers girls' and boys' basketball camps, clinics, and leagues, as well an afterschool program and birthday parties. And the former forward helps kids take their offensive and defensive moves to the next level during personal and group skill-development training sessions.
