At Chateau Belle, in a space designed to conjure the feel of a Parisian flea market, lash luminary Megan Alexandra uses organic products and NovaLash and Shavasana extensions to pamper peepers and dress them with luxurious fringe. Patrons select lashes to suit their own orbs from frill in an array of lengths and thicknesses, which Alexandra carefully applies over 60–90 minutes, and organic, anti-wrinkle gel pads soothe the eye area more than a staring contest with a bubble bath. Floral-mist essences delight with gentle haikus to nostrils and refresh with healing particles as guests acquire flare extensions for coquettish eye-batting or full extensions that enable train-stopping winks. Except for the glue, the salon uses entirely organic products, and lashes last for approximately three weeks, after which fills are recommended.
While growing up on a farm in Vermont, Jessica Charles learned to appreciate how revitalizing a serene, natural setting could be. When she founded Body & Soul, she wanted to give clients a similar setting within a more traditional spa environment, complete with services that foster a similar sense of holistic wellbeing. Her bodywork sessions, for instance, use specialized massage modalities to soothe tense muscles or help restore balance throughout the body with energy-manipulating reiki techniques.
Jessica also realizes that modern technology has much to offer people besides bionic limbs. Her spa's ultrasonic-cavitation and laser-lipo systems each contour stubborn deposits of fat along the body, as do the body wraps, which Jessica prepares using organic blends of minerals and ingredients intended to nourish the skin. Even the facials embrace modern spa advancements: treatments employ microcurrent technology to create youthfully firm skin or LED light energy to minimize the appearance of blemishes such as scars, inflammation, and acne.
Having trained and studied throughout the US, Europe, and Asia, Rachel Petkus L.Ac now shares her passion for holistic well-being at Healing for Balance. Though she's a licensed acupuncturist, she also offers other therapeutic treatments that include Thai massage and cupping. Whatever treatment she's performing, Rachel is focused on jump-starting the body's natural healing processes while supporting clients' physical as well as mental health. To help clients achieve this mind-body balance, she also leads Kundalini-based yoga classes that can incorporate chanting, meditation, and mindful breathing exercises.
At Zen Massage Place, the massage therapists erase stress with soothing massage treatments. Herbs, sea salt, or flowers enhance foot soaks before foot reflexology treatments; likewise, thai hot herbal balls or hot stones are employed during full-body massages. Other options include deep-tissue, Shiatsu, or Swedish massage techniques, as well as relaxing treatments that include a rain shower and body scrub for soft skin.

What is one of your signature services? How is it performed?
Professional massage using a combination of Swedish massage, Thai massage, and hot-stone therapy. Thai massage involves stretching and acupressure to promote vascular- and energy-flow. Swedish massage is a more relaxing technique that incorporates oil and smooth pressure. Hot-stone therapy uses heated stones to treat specific problem areas needing heat and direct pressure.
When and how did you first develop a passion for your work?
While living and growing up in Thailand, I liked getting massages from my auntie. I learned Thai massage and realized that I am very good at it.
What is the best reaction you?ve ever gotten from a client?
Several clients have told me that I gave them the best massages of their lives. Those comments made me feel good about what I am doing. My massage teachers also told me that I have naturally good hands for massage.
Simply put, Eric Charles has healing hands. These hands can perform a variety of massages that detoxify the body, prevent injury, and alleviate chronic discomfort. Rather than limit himself to traditional modalities such as Swedish and deep tissue, Charles stretches his skill set to accommodate Hawaiian-style lomilomi and Thai massages that apply gentle pressure to the body?s energy points. He also performs sports massages that break up tension with Swedish-style strokes and strategically placed knuckleballs.
