Since 2007, the Robots-4-U team has been teaching children a program of STEM?science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Children absorb skills and knowledge through entertaining interactions with instructors, other campers, and robot kits. The camp maintains a 16:1 student to instructor ratio, ensuring children receive the proper amount of individual attention. Campers build robot kits comprising a brain unit and sensory appendages, which replicate seeing, hearing, touching and reading minds. Once the bots are assembled, children enter their creations into racing, dancing, and battle-bot challenges.
Every day of the week, representatives from JT Jet Ski Rental LLC meet patrons at the edge of Joe Pool Lake and hand them the keys to rental 2014 Seadoo jet skis. Each rental comes bundled with a life jacket and a full tank of gas, ensuring that riders get their full time allotment for zipping over waves and challenging largemouth bass to race. Before pushing off from the shore, however, riders receive a brief operating tutorial so they and fellow lake-goers can safely enjoy the waters.
Lynn Creek Marina has been lounging on the shore of Joe Pool Lake since 1990, granting visitors access to 7,500 acres of aquatic entertainment. The marina's 541 covered and uncovered wet slips house boats up to 50 feet, and its dry storage areas protect boats up to 28 feet long from squalls and water-balloon fights. Visitors can rent SunTracker pontoon boats, Sea Ray ski boats, 2011 Yamaha WaveRunners, and 14-foot fishing boats, or bring a boat in need of mending to the full-service marine repair facility.
Additionally, the ships' store furnishes outings with a selection of marine accessories and gear, including fishing tackle and bait, snacks, and water toys, and the Oasis Restaurant and Lakeview Bar fuels boaters with grilled seafood and Tex-Mex fare. Lakeside breezes swirl through the rest of the marina's grounds, parading fresh air toward the swimming pool for slip lessees and their families, the driving range, the miniature-golf course, and the yacht club that hosts events and sailboat races, including the annual Mayday Regatta.
Bob and Coni Keyes began the adventure that is Green Meadows Petting Farm in Wisconsin in 1964, when it was simply Green Meadows Farm. As a "pick-your-own" raspberry and vegetable farm, there was nothing there yet to pet, especially since raspberries notoriously withhold affection. When they discovered that most farms of their ilk prohibited youngsters, they brought in animal friends to make their farm a family affair. All it took was the raves of one nursery school group, and suddenly the new Green Meadows Petting Farm was bringing in up to 1,200 visitors a day. Through the decades, Green Meadows has expanded its array of animals and family entertainment, which includes horse-drawn hayrides, sleigh rides, mobile pony parties, and more pumpkins than in a headless horseman's closet. They've also expanded to locations to Maryland and Texas, allowing kids in two times zones the chance to get closer to nature's critters.
