Surrounded by warm, salt water, Miss Mimi smiles as her young student lets go of the side of the pool and swims to her for the very first time. Known as the Swim Whisperer, Miss Mimi prides herself on helping young children and adults overcome their fear of water and learn to swim with the confidence of a derby-winning seahorse. An avid swimmer with more than 21 years of teaching experience, Mimi opened Aqua~Fit in 2008 with the hopes of creating a health center for the entire family. To offer something for guests of all ages, she designed an entire program of swimming lessons, aquatic fitness , and land fitness classes, with programs for all skill levels.

Exuberating the Elizabethan, The Improvised Shakespeare Company curates an epic evening of history-defying comedy quips. With Shakespeare's worlds open for interpretation, the company may dabble in the themes of kings, queens, political prowess, pranksters, and knee-slapping tales of heart-crushed lovers. With nary a script to nip from, the Chicago-based improv crew invents new tales of guffaw and jest each time they take the world as their stage.

Aqua Angels' parent-child swimming classes teach four-month to four-year-old land-limbed kids to cut through the water at the Kirby Creek Indoor Pool. During six 30-minute sessions, mother and Red Cross instructor Alex will lead small groups of parents and children according to her swim syllabus. Aqua Angels' lessons reacquaint children with their previously watery existence in an effort to foster confidence, increase physical strength, and make it possible to easily navigate sewer systems. Doggy-paddling parents need not fear—pools are shallow and easy to navigate.

Under the supervision of PADI-certified instructors, the one-hour course will provide water novices with the skills and confidence needed to embark on aquatic expeditions. Though the class won't churn out scuba divers certified to dive alone, it might finally put to rest a persistent fear of bathtubs and really big puddles.

Celebrating its tenth season, Bahama Beach Waterpark draws visitors to its cooling oasis filled with soaking attractions. Visitors go to the park, which is just a 10-minute trip from downtown Dallas, to lounge in inner tubes as they bob on the serene current of the Calypso Cooler Lazy River. Children join in the action and race through the nearby Coconut Cove, a rainforest-style playground with rope ladders, slides, and a 1,000-gallon dumping bucket. Two intertwined slides, the Riptide Slide and Bahama Bullet, descend from a 45-foot-high platform, and the nearby Bermuda Triangle's trio of open and closed slides deposits riders into a high-speed splashdown.

Bahama Bob's Island Eatery crafts a full menu of sandwiches, burgers, and snacks for diners, and the Island Traders store dispenses necessities such as sunscreen, locker rentals, and emergency rubber duckies. The park also offers party-sized seating, including group pavilions and private cabanas.
