The Studio fosters fitness and makes martial-arts masters out of fledgling fighters. Instructors Jack Corrie (a seventh-degree senior master) and Amitis Pourarian (a sixth-degree master and former U.S. team member) coordinate and co-operate the body-fortifying center, contributing a combined 50 years of martial-arts experience. During a wide variety of classes, students learn to maneuver their metatarsals and middle ears in a menagerie of different workout methods designed to pump hearts and arms.

Nelson Recinos wasn’t born a martial-arts master. In fact, his first experience with fighting was surviving on the streets of a war-plagued El Salvador. Once he escaped his situation, Recinos honed his skills with a six-year tenure in Thailand, where he learned muay thai from local masters. Eventually he came to the states to compete as a professional prizefighter, winning 129 bouts and losing only 1.
Now he brings his lifetime of expertise to students at Recinos Muay Thai Bootcamp—an 8,000-square-foot facility. Recinos teaches muay thai and boxing, both of which he’s competed in. Sean Tribble, a purple belt in Brazilian jujitsu, assists by teaching his grappling art. Personal trainer Amanda Staudinger rounds out clients' training regimens with a cardio and conditioning class designed to get participants in fighting shape, with strong limbs, a powerful core, and hands replaced with bricks.
