For the past two decades, Steve Thatcher has dedicated his life, and his business, to coffee. After opening his first shops in Amarillo in 1992 and a second shop in Boston shortly after, the coffee connoisseur settled in Dallas to open Drip Coffee Company in 2005. He established the shop with one goal in mind: serve the highest quality coffee possible, every time. Arabica beans from small, family-owned farms across the globe—including South America, Africa, and Arabia—have helped make that an easy accomplishment, but the true secret to Steve’s trade is in the roasting process. His staff members personally roast the coffee in small batches at the shop, thus ensuring that every cup brims with the robust flavor of a fresh roast. The Drip Coffee Company itself, with its modern and industrial interior, matches the simple, but carefully contrived coffee. Crisp white walls and pine-colored counters scattered with red and silver accents flank the bright and open space to create a clean look enhanced by the café’s orderly lines of tables and chairs.
