Surrounded by warm, salt water, Miss Mimi smiles as her young student lets go of the side of the pool and swims to her for the very first time. Known as the Swim Whisperer, Miss Mimi prides herself on helping young children and adults overcome their fear of water and learn to swim with the confidence of a derby-winning seahorse. An avid swimmer with more than 21 years of teaching experience, Mimi opened Aqua~Fit in 2008 with the hopes of creating a health center for the entire family. To offer something for guests of all ages, she designed an entire program of swimming lessons, aquatic fitness , and land fitness classes, with programs for all skill levels.
As a high-schooler, Natalie Tailford became hooked on the sense of peaceful floating that comes from practicing yoga. Later as an adult, she found a way to get that feeling of inner floating both literally and mentally. After spending years in a cubicle, she left the corporate world and ventured out on her own to open Float On Yoga. She graduated from the Divine School of Yoga Therapy, and, as a certified yoga therapist, her average workday now includes meeting clients in breezy area parks. Using the calming waters of Lake Grapevine and Lake Lewisville as studios, Natalie or another Float on Yoga instructor teaches yoga to up to five pupils at a time as the class floats on standup paddleboards. The hybrid classes follow the mantra "Breathe, balance, float," which seeks to align body, mind, and water wings as students practice watery asanas and cobra poses.
Drop off your sister's brood between 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. and scoop them up at 4:30 p.m. after you've taken in a full day of kid-free bonding. At camp, young ones aged 4–13 will learn enjoyable skills through a diverse assortment of fun-fillers such as kayaking, archery, fishing, swimming, treasure hunts, target shooting, conservation, conversation, conversation about conservation, nature study, and more. Snacks are provided at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
The Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Gardens makes for a relaxing escape, as its verdant 66-acre property along White Rock Lake is rife with seasonal flowers, shrubs, trees, and plants. Holiday décor at the arboretum includes seven fairy-tale castle exhibits, such as Beauty and the Beast and Rapunzel. Families can pose for photos and juggle glass slippers inside Cinderella's enchanted holiday carriage, harnessed to two topiary horses. Because of Dallas's relatively temperate climate, the outdoor Nasher Sculpture Center stays open year-round. On display through January 8 is Tony Cragg: Seeing Things, a collection of approximately 30 large, modern sculptures that speckle the park with vibrant colors and unusual shapes.

His challenging exercises encourage full-body fitness, using workouts that build stamina, boost metabolism, improve swimming skills, and promote weight loss. Incorporating the best of land-based cross-training systems, CombatSwim includes plenty of high-intensity interval training and pulse-hiking calisthenics. In the pool, water adds extra resistance that amplifies the effects of the exercises, which include swimming sprints, endurance swimming, and treading water with weights. Designed to sharpen the mind as well as the body, CombatSwim leaves exercisers with the same confidence and conditioning as some of the world's elite military warriors.
