CrossFit Julia’s husband-and-wife team takes a personal approach to fitness. Rather than set their clients loose in a jungle of workout machinery, they structure their daily CrossFit workouts around functional strength and cardio exercises in a supportive group setting. The classes themselves constantly vary; one day’s deadlifts and pushups are another day’s sprints and burpees. Success is determined not by any uniform standard, but by each student’s ability to meet or exceed his or her own fitness expectations. Just as CrossFit differs from normal workouts, CrossFit Julia’s facility differs from a normal gym. Each batch of Syntax Spirits Distillery’s vodka, whisky, and rum is made by hand using stainless-and-copper fractionating stills, Colorado Weld County wheat or American Molasses, and Cache La Poudre River whitewater. When guests aren’t mid-pinball game or sampling drinks at the 40-foot-long concrete bar, the staff leads complimentary tours of the distillery’s manufacturing area, where Laverne & Shirley imitations are prohibited.
The certified staff at Tortuga Bay lives and breathes all things scuba, offering everything from training and equipment to planned trips to exotic underwater destinations. The shop's greatest claim to fame is a state-of-the-art indoor, heated saltwater pool the website claims is the deepest in captivity.
Owner Ron Bland and his team of experienced instructors introduce beginners to diving with a three-step certification system that begins with online or classroom academic training and progresses to pool lessons and open-water evaluations. The scuba center also offers advanced courses and excursions for more experienced divers.
Ten Bears Winery produces smooth, handcrafted wines through a fermentation process that involves french-oak aging and an exclusive winter-hibernation technique. To begin, the facility’s winemaker hand-selects the finest grapes available, and by the time those grapes reach the bottling line, they’ve been transformed into easy-to-drink, well-balanced Colorado wines, many of which populate the shelves at local retailers.
