Multiple studios—some with tiled floor, some with hardwood floor, and all with expansive mirrors—serve as the workout spaces for NY Studio Fitness. Inside each room, instructors guide students through Zumba dance moves while high-energy international tunes pump through the sound system. Instructors also combine yoga and Pilates techniques during blended Yogalates classes.
Personal-training sessions at Gate Fitness push clients to develop the skills they need to reach goals such as prepping for a marathon, dropping pounds, or building muscles. The trainers also bring individuals into a supportive group setting with classes that include Zumba, pole fitness, or leap frog.
Eloise Zeeman, ERYT-500, fought her way back to good health from two car accidents and found herself counting her blessings. The injuries she sustained from each were serious, but not as serious as they would have been had Eloise not already been a dedicated yoga practitioner. Instead of waiting for healing to begin, she enacted it herself by meditating, visualizing, and stretching in her hospital bed. She began her studies in 1993 in Siddha Yoga, under Swami Ganapati Ganesh and attended Sri Dharma Mittra's 200 and 500 hour programs. At Karuna Yoga Center, Eloise shares the same healing practices with those seeking physical or spiritual relief through Restorative and Vinyasa yoga classes.
