Although it has its origins in the neon-soaked days of the 1980s, laser tag has evolved into a grittier, more tactical incarnation. At Laser Tag Pro Milwaukee, players don't wield typical toy weapons; instead, they're equipped with realistic, custom-built arms, such as a shotgun, sniper, machine gun, or burst rifle. Once armed, they venture into tactical missions that boast unique games modes, including Infection, Domination, and VIP.

The Big Backyard's owners each have two children of their own and struggled for a long time to find all-weather activities to please their own kids of different ages. They finally decided to create their own playground to address all their needs, building an indoor space with slides, climbing structures, and climate control. "I enjoy that various ages of children can have fun at our playground," says co-owner Christine. "Infants, toddlers, and school-age children all can find things to do."
Of course, they didn't just design the place with kids in mind?they also wanted to make the experience enjoyable for families. An open floor design provides clear sight lines for parents, in addition to plenty of room for kids to run, crawl, or pretend to be late to a meeting. Christine adds: "Parents with multiple children tell us they love the visibility of the play area, as they can watch more than one child at once."
There's something for kids of all ages and interests at Kids in Motion. Toddlers and preschoolers can amuse themselves with rubber balls in the open play area, while older children navigate overhead tunnels and a punching-bag forest. Miniature Monets can stretch their creative muscles in the arts-and-crafts center, budding engineers can build their own railroad in the train room, and aspiring scientists can learn about nature with hands-on experiments in the science and conservation room. Children with a flair for the dramatic can even create a skit and put on a show in the Center Stage room. Whatever activity children choose, Kids in Motion offers a safe, clean environment where little ones can explore their interests.

Eight enormous inflatables tower above the sock-clad youngsters visiting Jump Zone's indoor park. Decorated with kid-friendly themes such as Batman, fire trucks, and the rainforest, inflatables accommodate kids ages 2–12 as they hop in bounce houses, slip down slides, navigate obstacle courses, and hatch plans to open up 401(k) accounts. Meanwhile, a toddler play area entices children ages 2 and younger with a pirate-themed inflatable. Along with its inflatable fun, Jump Zone enthralls guests with an arcade and offers to host parties complete with an inflatable throne for guests of honor. Parents enjoy free admission when they enter with a child, at which point they can watch their youngsters play, surf the facility's free WiFi, or join their kids for a bite in the café.
