What are some of your most popular services? What do you think clients love them so much?
As an independent massage therapist, I can pay special attention to my clients' individual needs. I do not need to adhere to time constraints, unlike the chains. If a client is scheduled for 60 minutes, they get 60 minutes, not 55. I specialize in Swedish, medical, and pregnancy massage. I also work with breast cancer patients
Besides making clients happy, what do you like most about your job?
I work in the most simple and relaxed setting, which allows me to give a relaxing massage experience.
More than 30 years after its inception, Cactus Salon & Spa and its team of continually educated stylists have not lost their edge?they earned the Long Island Press's designation as Best Hair Salon and Best Day Spa in 2011 and 2012. It's not surprising, then, that the salon has enjoyed such impressive growth over the years, with more than two dozen separate spa and salon locations.
Although hair is still the focus?stylists craft 'dos that reflect everyday ease or fashion-forward thinking?the repertoire has expanded to include everything from nail treatments and massages to permanent cosmetics and laser services. Since the roster is so broad, many clients take advantage of Cactus Club memberships, which give them the flexibility to try multiple services and products by deactivating the force fields between treatment rooms and granting a 33% discount on Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
A chandelier illuminates sea-foam walls at this comprehensive health and beauty oasis. Such "relaxing and beautiful surroundings" are the result of the team?s commitment to a tranquil environment designed to foster "a pleasant and comforting experience" during treatments. The spa's fitness training accommodates guests of a wide variety of skill levels. Supplementing these exercise-based weight-loss efforts are body contouring and cellulite-banishing services, which form a med-spa menu along with injectables, microdermabrasion, and facial peels. SpaFit?s laser treatments exile unwanted hair, spider veins, and signs of aging?such as knowing whether Dwight Eisenhower is a president or a toll way. The spa?s spray tans can grant a gilded finishing touch.
Stephanie Wrubel, licensed clinical aesthetician and owner of The Skin Clinic, the recipient of the 2013 Best of Huntington Award in the Medical Spa category by the Huntington Award Program, helps to solve visitors? epidermal maladies with organic skincare salves and advanced med-spa technology. Aided by medical aesthetician Deirdre Blanco, Stephanie clears away oil and expired poker faces with facials, glycolic peels, and acne treatments that uproot dead cells to reveal healthy, youthful skin. Alternatively, noninvasive laser treatments target spider veins, unwanted body hair, and cellulite, leaving epidermal expanses smoother and more evenly toned.
An attendee of both the Vidal Sassoon Academy in England and the J Beverly Hills Academy, veteran hairstylist and colorist Kim Reda leads Domane Hair Salon's trained staff. She and her stylists cosset both men's and women's hair with everything from simple cuts and highlights to more modern services such as balayage, Japanese hair straightening, and feather extensions. As their stylists snip away, clients soak in the beauty of the salon's location within the refurbished historic Northport home where Teddy Roosevelt won his first mustache-growing contest.
