When Roald Dahl wrote Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, he imagined a much-coveted golden ticket that granted access to myriad wonders and unveiled the inner workings of an entire industry. MetaBody created a real-life version of that ticket with the MetaBody Yoga & Fitness Pass, though it applies to fitness instead of candy. The pass grants access not to a single gym but to classes at a variety of local studios, specializing in everything from yoga to boot camp. With the freedom to move from location to location, students can sample different regimens, instructors, and styles of exercise to cobble together a program that fits their needs and goals. MetaBody's nutritionists supplement class packages by coaching clients in healthy eating, recipe cooking, and speed-reading nutrition-fact labels.

Typically, bubbles are associated with getting something clean?they remove stains from clothes, or lift dirt from elbows. But at Bubble Palooza, bubbles experience a bit of an identity crisis. Here, relieved of their duty as degunkers and loaded up with non-toxic color, they help transform a three-mile route into a vibrant, foam-filled wonderland. Along that route, and oftentimes buried beneath bubbles, participants clad in white run, walk, and skip their way from one end of the course to the other. In the process, those same participants are blasted by a bubbly rainbow of foam, becoming magnets for the greens, blues, and other colors carried by a seemingly endless deluge of bubbles. After the event, the color-saturated participants gather to celebrate at the Bubble Bash, where they listen to music, dance, and attempt to lure an untamed bubble into coming home as their pet.

Runners embarking on the Honky Tonk Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5K won't need headphones to hear twangy country tunes. That’s because the hilly Wisconsin Dells course features live bands and DJs along the route to keep participants energized as they race toward the finish line. The party-like atmosphere doesn’t end with the race, as a full-blown celebration complete with food, beer, and line dancing awaits runners and their family and friends. Aside from age-group awards for the top three males and females in each race, finish-line gifts include a Honky Tonk cowboy hat and goodie bag for all participants, a finisher-medal buckle for marathoners and half marathoners, and an ice bath for those who decided to pogo stick the entire 26.2 miles. The Honky Tonk marathon and half-marathon course is USA Track & Field certified and is also a Boston Marathon qualifier.

The inspiring trainers at each MetaBody location lead troops of workouteers in results-oriented workouts several times weekly. Sweat sessions utilize a variety of exercises and disciplines to produce full-body results in a supportive environment, ideal for beginners and hard-core core-hardeners alike. During any class, motivational instructors will use the instinctual distrust of routine to their advantage. Begin a day of litigating with a refreshing early-morning boot-camp session, or wind down by burning evidence and pounds with a late-evening yoga class. Muscles are kept guessing with new and challenging moves during each session, so participants never fall into a boring, ineffective routine, such as regular teeth brushing. In addition to the fitness classes, students receive a success guide to help prepare for imminent pound loss, a nutrition guide, and a $100 gift certificate for individual coaching. Because the pass sets a 10-class cap at any given location, roving fitness mavens can further shake up their workout regimens by vetting a series of classes or instructors that work best for them.

November 30 is an important day in American history?a day when, every year, people take to the streets and dance like zombies.?It's a tradition that began on that same date in 1982, when Michael Jackson released his iconic Thriller LP, prompting fans to celebrate each anniversary with flashmob dances inspired by the iconic video for the title track.?

Thriller Run expands these King of Pop-themed festivities by adding a race to the mix.?Just going to the starting point's kiosk is a spooky yet campy experience. As athletes sign up for race waves, they mingle with zombies, dancing ghosts, and normal-looking people who could very well be werewolves. Then, after warming up to beats from local DJs, they're off and running to the tunes of Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5, with an inevitable flash mob later in the day.
