No opportunity for relaxation is overlooked at Trouble Salon. Just inside the entrance, plush red couches laden with pillows sit behind a red curtain. Adding to this ambiance are modern paintings and the occasional lit candle. Hair services start at shampooing stations, where comfy massage chairs soothe muscles while the stylists do their work.
Once situated at the styling stations, clients continue to be put at ease by the staff's expertise in many areas of hair care. In addition to cuts, the beauty experts can add vivid highlights, smooth out hair with Brazilian Blowouts, or add extra inches with extensions, helping clients finally reach the hair-length requirements for roller coasters. The staff also includes aestheticians, who administer eyelash extensions or wax away unwanted hair from the face and underarms.
Fresh stays true to its name by staying on top of beauty-industry trends. The salon's mani-pedis, which were featured in a FOX 31 "Beauty Ambush" segment and in The Knot, beautify nails with ultra fashionable Kevin Murphy and Deborah Lippmann polish.
In addition to refreshing nails, Fresh reinvigorates styles with blowouts, waxing, and lash extensions, often using a line of products and supplies made in the United States. Fresh also pampers kids alongside their moms, offering kid-friendly mani-pedis and fun hair braids.
When you mix a learning program with a full-service salon and spa, you get The Salon Academy & Spa—a facility that’s been readying students for cosmetology careers since 1978. But don’t let this long history fool you into thinking the treatments here are dated. Students learn the latest trends, such as how to reduce frizz with Brazilian Blowout treatments or boost vibrancy with L’Oreal Professional Color. They also wield diamond-tipped microdermabrasion wands to remove dead skin cells, fading the look of sun damage, acne scars, and fine lines that connect the acne scars. These treatments and more are performed under the watchful eye of an instructor, who makes sure every haircut, wax, or facial is up to snuff.
Shrivasta Salon's owner, Joey M., trained at Bumble and bumble in New York, and traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe in order to perfect his craft. Today, when he isn't traveling to keep up with current trends in hairstyling, he transforms men and women with cuts, conditioning treatments, and up-dos, and tame frizz with Brazilian Blowout treatments.

Certain hairstyles look good on certain facial shapes. When a client asks for a haircut you know will be a mismatch for them, how do you handle it?
I tactfully guide them to a choice that will flatter them more, maybe using some of the elements they like about the other style.
For many people, a trip to the salon is a way to enjoy some "me time." What supplemental courtesies do you offer to make guests feel relaxed?
I offer my clients cold drinks, and I can also do makeup, mani-pedis, and scalp massages if they schedule them in advance.
