Since 1990, Power Shack Fitness Centers have fostered a casual, low-stress ambiance at its four locations, eschewing the large crowds and intimidating vibes of many mainstream gyms. A retinue of nationally certified personal trainers is on hand to craft custom workout plans for members, acquainting them with the gym’s array of free weights, cardio machines, and functional training equipment. Group fitness classes are also led by nationally certified instructors. Offerings include barbell conditioning, yoga, spinning, dance, and power grunting. Depending on the location, you can also take advantage of tanning amenities or pick up nutritional supplements.
With a pass to Zumba or Nia dance classes, you get a six-pack of entertaining group classes that harness the expressive power of dance to fuel cardio fitness, weight loss, and newly jazzed hands. If a heavy bag killed your parents, avenge them with the six-week intensive kickboxing cardio class, which, along with boosting the cardiovascular system, lends extreme strength to the muscles required for fist pumping during shredding guitar solos. To target the heart, the whole heart, and a bunch of tubes attached to the heart, take kickboxing to the next level of socially sublimated violence with a duo of Cardio Blast sessions. These high-intensity, 20-minute sessions are one on one and supervised by a trained bag-handler who ensures the use of proper techniques and keeps bags from unleashing their arsenal of hurtful jokes about your mother. Check out the schedule of classes to catch the group wave for cardio classes or group fitness dance sessions.

During their 25 years in the sports performance industry, Nick and Sharon Osborne have watched countless athletes lose interest in monotonous workouts and detached trainers. The couple realized that a lack of external motivation caused this burnout, and they founded Go: Sports Performance Center on a foundation of personal training and motivational group fitness. A staff of hand-selected coaches cheerlead every student during the gym's group classes. Group classes put a handful of students through demanding athletic routines that mimic real-life sports activities, which strengthen muscles with natural actions less likely to produce injury. Trainers and members furnish their workouts with the gym's ample equipment, which includes kettlebells, battling ropes, sledgehammers, and power rack. To help achieve goals such as weight loss, improved athletic performance, and increased strength, each athlete gets access to nutrition and fitness software that helps them plan healthful meals without going to the trouble of hacking into the Food Network's mainframe.
At age 16, Danny De Salvatore was astounded at how his body conformed to his wishes after a weightlifting regimen. What began as an effort to better his soccer playing grew into a lifelong passion—he earned a bachelor's degree in exercise science and a personal-training certification through ISSA. With credentials in hand, he worked at national gym chains throughout Columbus and taught in Rome at fitness centers during the summer. He continuously tracked observations as he met with clients, making note of which strategies led to results and which were simply fads. Soon, he was ready to open his own facility and cultivate the intimate, small-business vibe that would lead to loyal members.
Danny has gathered a team of experts to man one-on-one training sessions as well as group classes at Oxygen Health & Fitness. All of them contribute to a familial support network, making customers feel welcome by memorizing their names and tattooing their initials onto each pectoral. Massage, tanning, and nutritional wellness services round out the gym's fitness offerings for a balanced approach to physical welfare.
