At GnG Music Instruction, accomplished instructors introduce fertile young minds to euphonious basics in one-hour classes once a week. Aspiring rock stars aged 8–11 who already possess Eddie Van Halen's skill at signing autographs can also acquire his shredding ability during guitar classes. Piano lessons build a sense of camaraderie between fellow ivory ticklers, and the booming percussion curriculum creates child-size drummers capable of keeping solid 4/4 beats. These three classes welcome beginners aged 8–11 as well as those 12 and older.

It might be hard to believe considering its vast array of products, but Sears, Roebuck and Co. began with one accessory: watches. In 1886, Richard W. Sears bought a box of unwanted watches from a jeweler, thinking he could turn a profit by selling them. He was correct and committed to the watch business by hiring Alvah C. Roebuck, an experienced watchmaker.
As time went on, though, their business expanded its umbrella far beyond what people wore on their wrists. Sears became known as the place to shop for almost any appliance, from sewing machines to those magical boxes that create water from nothing and clean your clothes.
Today, the stores stock clothing, accessories, electronics, kitchen equipment, tools for outdoor living, and home decor. This variety is sustained by Sears's proprietary brands—Kenmore, Craftsman, and DieHard, to name a few—and other national names that populate the shelves.
When Dru Silver isn't touring America with his band Locusta—a trek the group has made five times—he draws on his more than 10-year career to teach budding guitarists at Guitar Lessons Columbus. He starts slow with kids, not only helping each pupil have fun mastering a favorite song they like, but also preventing them from falling through their acoustic guitar's hole. With older students, whether they're beginners or advanced shredders, he personalizes lessons around each pupil's goals and interests, whether it's notating favorite songs by ear or learning to improvise solos. Those skills come in handy during the other activities Dru curates for his students, including jam sessions, recording sessions, and live concerts.
Musician Matt Steidle wears many hats: composer, performer, and teacher. As the owner of Stylie Studio, he has the chance to exercise all three. As a composer, he creates tunes for commercials or helps others record and stylize their own songs. As a performer, Matt soundtracks everything from weddings to birthday parties with ballads dating as far back as the '60s all the way to today's hits. And as a teacher, he passes on his expertise in guitar, electric bass, piano, and music theory to the next generation of artists.
Songstress Natalia Chase has studied voice for 20 years in a number of genres, performed on the reality show Pepsi's Gimme the Mic, and penned ballads played by a local radio station. At VoiceActivated, she passes along her expertise in contemporary vocals to a new generation of artists through group and private vocal lessons. The private lessons, which cater to aspiring professionals, combine voice instruction with education about music theory.
