Superior Academy trains bodies to react to stressful situations with power and stamina. Its mixed martial arts training includes a variety of techniques, including Bruce Lee's jeet kune do and close-quarter defense, to help kids, teens, adults, women, and military personnel fend off would-be attackers. For those who prefer to move in a less combative art, the school also conducts salsa, ballroom, and swing lessons for solo dancers or partners.

An original Rees Jones design, Jones Creek Golf Club navigates the rolling hills of Augusta to showcase a landscape of dogwoods, azaleas, and frequent elevation changes. Water intersects numerous holes, and pristine white-sand bunkers surround sloped, hard-to-read greens that flummox players more that the Mona Lisa's coy smile. Golfers can warm-up for rounds at the facility's practice greens, driving range, or during lessons at the state-of-the-art golf center. The stately clubhouse features casual dining and elegant facilities to host events. Nearby, members can wind down with a match on the tennis courts or a dip in the facility's large swimming pool.

Headed by So You Think You Can Dance veterans Dwight Rhoden and Desmond Richardson, Complexions Contemporary Ballet has blended classical and modern dance styles from around the world into dazzling routines for more than 15 years. Armed with a repertoire of dozens of custom pieces, Complexions' dancers showcase the expressive possibilities of the human body more effectively than live tattooing competitions. Starting at 6:30 p.m., a preshow discussion with Dwight Rhoden will let audience members grill the rhythm-making maestro on his methods and inspiration. Inside the Heymann Center's sweeping modernist structure, an intimate auditorium's clear sight lines allow guests to watch each leap and bend ripple through the athletic forms onstage and opera glasses to return to their original role as trendy fashion accessory.

A mother horse and her newborn colt saunter up to the wooden fence, greeting the children eager to pet the creatures' noses. The team members of Graystone Ranch thrive on seeing these types of interactions. Managing 500 acres of woods and pasturelands that serve as a preserve and rehabilitation center for both domestic and exotic animals, the ranch hands form a nonprofit team dedicated to teaching children and adults how man and animals can live in harmony.

Concurrent with such educational programs as summer camps, the grounds also host abundant recreational opportunities with two spring-fed lakes, wooded hiking and horse-riding trails, zip lines, and a petting zoo. Further diversions range from a gem-and-mineral museum to a horse-painting program, which lets kids put their colored handprints or re-creations of a favorite Monet on the sides of a white horse.
